Before you judge the possibility of Lil Wayne b2b John Carpenter, check out Chicago producer SP-33‘s recent interpretation. SP-33 chose not to simply overlay Weezy’s raspy voice over Carpenter’s score on Escape From Tha Carter, but to instead disassemble and reassemble, chopping Wayne’s voice and looping sections of Carpenter’s soundtrack. The result ultimately makes complete sense, as Wayne’s reckless lyrical absurdism and inimitable voice transcend any musical backdrop, not to mention fit nicely into Carpenter’s dystopian soundscapes.
