Following the announcement of Ableton’s new Push 2 controller and a Live 9.5 update, Point Blank‘s resident Ableton and Push expert Ski Oakenfull has taken the new devices for a test drive, sampling straight from vinyl using Push 2 and the updated Simpler device.

In the 18-minute video, Ski uses Push 2 to pull samples from four records and easily chop them using the brilliantly revamped Simpler sampler, perfectly showing the intuitive updates to both devices. In a very short time, without barely looking at or touching his computer, Ski warps, plays, and tweaks the samples into an altogether new, and quite banging, track.
