Ahead of its release next week via the dependable Dekmantel outpost (a label which recently grabbed a spot on our Best Labels of 2014 list), the latest effort from San Francisco’s Matrixxman can now be streamed in full on XLR8R.

Entitled Nubian Metropolis, the four-track affair follows quickly behind what was a busy year for Matrixxman, who in the last 12 months delivered a number of official releases, countless remixes, and also turned in one of our favorite tracks of 2014 with “Soul M8” (a tune which saw its release via Soo Wavey, the label Matrixxman runs alongside Vin Sol). On his forthcoming EP, Matrixxman continues to place machine-swung rhythms and restless hardware tones at the base of his floor-focused productions, resulting in a record that seems to signal that the man’s efforts will be just as fruitful in the year ahead.

Originally slated to see a release in December, Nubian Metropolis will now see its official release on January 12. Before then, Matrixxman’s upcoming debut on the Dekmantel label can be heard in its entirety via the player below.
