With the Red Bull Music Academy’s 2011 edition set to descend on Madrid in a little over a month, the RBMA posse is in the midst of a worldwide tour of panels, workshops, studio sessions, and parties highlighting the music scenes of 10 cities from around the globe. Having already visited Cape Town, South Africa and currently wrapping up three days of events in Berlin, the tour has a one-day stop in Paris this weekend before heading across the Atlantic for a lengthy string of special events to take place in the US’ most renowned city for electronic music—Detroit. The six-day tour stop, which RBMA is calling Motor City Frequencies, gets underway on Monday, September 12, and is set to include workshops with legendary Detroit producers such as Theo Parrish, Carl Craig, Juan Atkins, Dabrye, and more, as well as what should prove to be an amazing club night with the fabled Three Chairs project (consisting of key members Rick Wilhite, Kenny Dixon Jr., and Theo Parrish). Even better, all the events are FREE. You can get the full details as to what RBMA’s Detroit adventure will entail here.

As for the rest of the globe, go here to check out the organization’s continent-hopping plans, which will take the team to Toronto, Melbourne, New York, Rome, Sao Paulo, and London over the next month and a half. Also, stay tuned to the XLR8R website in the weeks ahead, as we’ll be running an exclusive video series with footage from each of the 10 RBMA tour stops.
