Ryuichi Sakamoto To Release Two Exclusive Tracks For Record Store Day
'ff2' will land on April 21.
Following the success of Ryuichi Sakamoto’s critically acclaimed albums async (2017) and async: remodels—a remix compilation featuring re-workings and interpretations of the original record from the likes of Icelandic composer Jóhann Jóhannsson and Canadian synth-pop duo Electric Youth—Milan Music is set to release two new Sakamoto tracks for Record Store Day as a vinyl 12” 45 rpm record, titled ff2.
As composer, performer, producer, and environmentalist, few artists have as diverse a résumé and fan base as that of Ryuichi Sakamoto. Sakamoto’s work has spanned vast musical territories, from pioneering electronic music as a member of Yellow Magic Orchestra to crafting globally-inspired rock albums, classical compositions, a stretch of minimal/ambient music collaborations, and over 30 film scores.
