NY-via-SF producer Matthew Patterson Curry (a.k.a. Safety Scissors) went almost completely quiet following 2005’s Tainted Lunch, but after eight years of releasing no solo material, Curry has wrapped production on an LP he’s calling In a Manner of Sleeping. Much of what defined the producer’s early work was his willingness to plow through multiple genres on each release, attempting an often helter-skelter mix of weird electronics and synth-pop chops. According to the press release, In a Manner of Sleeping is no different: Produced in New York, Safety Scissor’s third album is set to feature tracks inspired by contemporary avant-pop and house music, often right after the other. Though the CD and LP editions will offer varying tracklists, a preview of the CD version of In a Manner of Sleeping is streaming below, where the tracklist and artwork can also be browsed before they’re released on May 31 via BPitch Control.
