Last week, techno stalwart Richie Hawtinrevealed plans to revive his legendary Plastikman moniker on a new LP, EX, a record which can now be streamed in full. Recorded last year during a performance at New York’s Guggenheim museum, EX is a fifty-plus-minute excursion into dark synths and crystal-clear electronics. With the museum space said to have allowed Hawtin to take his focus off the dancefloor, the album finds the techno veteran in a very adventurous mood, still landing on moments of driving force but also willing to venture into the more abstract ends of live electronic manipulation.
