The Newcomer has shared “Love In The End Times,” a new single ahead of his album debut coming later this year via Astro Nautico.

The Newcomer first made waves across the early 2010s as upstart producer Young Montana?, but slunk back into the shadows shortly thereafter. He recently re-emerged with series of shadowy EPs for cult imprints Opal Tapes and patten’s 555-5555.

“Love In The End Times” is the first song in a body of work that was born out of an out of body experience—a “fugue state”—where everything became alien to him. In this state, he lost all his music, and so had to build his entire library from scratch again. The track itself is inspired by John Frusciante’s now-deleted home recordings LP from the mid-90s. “There’s a strange charisma to those songs, performed as if no-one would ever hear them, a vibe I channel in my own work,” he says.

Love In The End Times is available now via Astro Nautico.

More on the album will come soon.
