Now that the calendar has flipped to December, it’s once again time for us here at XLR8R to partake in our annual bout of navel gazing. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be unveiling our selections for the Best of 2014, compiling our favorite tracks, releases, labels, new artists, podcasts, features, and more. Our readers usually seem to enjoy this process, but we always figure that it’s more fun when our writers and editors aren’t the only ones having their say. As such, we’ve put together an official readers poll, and would like to encourage everyone in the XLR8R audience to cast a vote.

There are four separate categories in which people can vote for their favorites: releases, tracks, labels, and new artists. Voters can make up to three selections in each category, and should note that duplicate selections will be disqualified. (For instance, it’s not possible to vote for the same track three times.) Along the same lines, readers should also know that casting more than one ballot is also not permitted.

The polls will be open through Wednesday, December 17, and the results will be posted shortly thereafter.

UPDATE: Voting is now closed. The results of XLR8R’s Best of 2014 Readers Poll will be published on Friday, December 19
