On Friday, Fabrizio Rat will release his debut album, The Pianist, via Blackstrobe Records.

The Pianist follows 2016’s La Machina EP and this year’s Technopiano EP, released by Optimo and Involve Records, respectively. The Pianist stays true to the stylistic cues presented on its predecessors, a style driven by Fabrizio’s prepared piano, TB-303, and the TR-909. The eight tracks on The Pianist explore the same mind-bending cosmic terrain as artists such as Jeff Mills and Hauschka; although, Fabrizio’s prepared piano gives his music a singular sound that is at once haunting and mesmerizing.

Alongside the album announcement, Fabrizio has shared a video for album cut “Aimard.” Directed by Alessandro Arianti and Francesco Mori, the video gives some insight into the inspiring methods used by Fabrizio and a look at his transfixing live show.
