Before his upcoming LPDeath After Life drops on February 11 via Oneohtrix Point Never‘s Software imprint, Chicago-based hardware specialist Ryan McRyhew (a.k.a. Thug Entrancer) has shared a surreal, unsettling 3D video for the album’s opening cut. Created by visual artist (and founding member of Denver DIY venue Rhinoceropolis) Milton Melvin Croissant III, the computer-generated piece features dystopian apartment blocks, a floating metallic skull, disco arcades linked to a giant Sega Dreamcast console, and other bizarre environments from the future. The churning, step-sequenced techno of “Death After Life I” provides a sinister backdrop to the uncanny, fever-dreamed visuals.
