A new 12″ from Nick Anthony Simoncino is set to to arrive via L.I.E.S. this week, and ahead of its release, EP cut “Beyond the Dance” has been made available to stream. An Italian producer known for his classic, Larry Heard-style house, Simoncino was responsible for one of the L.I.E.S. outfit’s earliest releases—the Dreams EP from 2012—and is a frequent contributor to Hieroglyphic Being’s Chicago-based Mathematics label. His upcoming Abele Dance EP is due out on August 22, but until then, “Beyond the Dance” can be heard in full below, where we’ve also posted the record’s tracklist.

UK garage specialist DJ Q and Rinse/Butterz/Formula affiliate Flava D have today dropped a collaborative single, “PS,” which comes ahead of the pair’s upcoming EP for Local Action. Electing to operate together simply under their usual aliases, DJ Q’s and Flava D’s collaboration is said to find the producers combining their talents to explore “the middle ground between garage, grime, and bassline.” Serving as our first taste of the project, “PS” retools a host of classic UK sounds, lacing a garage skip with a ceaselessly active, resonant bassline and sharp-cut vocals.

Out now, “PS” can be streamed below; an as-yet untitled full collaborative EP from DJ Q and Flava D is set to drop later this year via Local Action.

After a blimp donning the Aphex Twin logo was spotted flying over London this weekend and stencils of the logo were reported throughout NYC, it appears the electronic pioneer born Richard D. James will return with a new LP, SYRO, for which he has today shared the first official details. Reported on multipleplatforms, Aphex Twin’s verified Twitter account today shared a link (accessible only by those using the TOR browser, a staple of the “deep internet”) which leads to a page that includes the upcoming LP’s title, SYRO, as well as what has been confirmed as the record’s tracklist. The link also revealed what may be part of the LP’s artwork as well, the half-smiling photo which can be seen below.

While most every other detail of Aphex Twin’s new release—which will serve as his first under the name since 2001’s Drukqs LP—remains unannounced, the tracklist for SYRO has been included below, making it seem safe to begin looking forward to seeing new material from the electronic stalwart appear before the year is through.

Last year, Jimmy Edgar‘s Ultramajic imprint launchedMetaphysix, a series of compilations each with their own conceptual theme. The forthcoming Correspondence collection will serve as the series’ third installment, and reportedly focuses on the musical relationship between Paris and the Ultramajic entity, presenting “ostensibly disparate producers from around the world translating similar musical ideas through cultural barriers.” To this end, the compilation features selections from French producers Bambounou, French Fries, and Bobmo, alongside Aden, label newcomer Crystal Bandito, and Edgar appearing under his Creepy Autograph alias.

Darkside—the collaboration between Nicolas Jaar and guitarist Dave Harrington—has announced the project will go on hiatus following a final performance in Brooklyn next month. Without much explanation, the outfit posted online yesterday that “Darkside is coming to an end, for now. On September 12th, we will be playing our last show at Brooklyn Masonic Temple.” In addition to the brief announcement, the pair also shared two previously unheard b-side cuts from its Psychic LP, which dropped in October of last year. Titled “Gone Too Soon,” and “What They Say,” those b-sides can be streamed in full below.

Darkside’s last show has already sold out, but Jaar and Harrington still have a number of live dates scheduled before the project’s final performance, the full list of which has been included below.

Earlier this summer, Dan Snaith revealed plans to release his sixth studio album as Caribou later this year, entitled Our Love. The record is due to drop via Merge/City Slang on October 7, and in the meantime, its title track has been made available to stream. A press release describes “Our Love,” which can be heard in full below, as built around “warm, bubbling beats and Dan’s distinctive vocal loops, before taking a bass-heavy turn in the middle.” Further details of Caribou’s upcoming Our Love LP, which will reportedly arrive as his “most soulful record to date, chock-full of heartfelt lyrics and organic nature which cuts through bubbling synths and blissful euphoria of their synthetic constructions,” can be found here, along with a list of Caribou’s upcoming worldwide tour dates.

A new video of an ambitious, headlining live set from nu-disco figurehead Todd Terje has surfaced online. Appearing in his native Norway at Øya Festival earlier this month, the performance showcases Terje on live synths and enlisting a clutch of instrumentalists—including a drummer, percussionist, and violinist—to play alongside him. The 75-minute set features live renditions of iconic club tracks such as “Ragysh” and “Inspector Norse,” and follows the overwhelming reception to his debut full-length, It’s Album Time, released via his own Olsen label earlier this year.
