Before his forthcomingAwake album drops via Ghostly in March, San Francisco-based artist Tycho has shared a full stream of its second single, “Montana,” along with details of an extensive spring tour in support of the record. Tycho’s new track is a dreamy and melodically charged instrumental affair, one that represents a formula likely to be tweaked and turned many times over on the man’s upcoming third album. In addition to a stream of the lush tune below, the complete dates for Tycho’s mostly North American spring tour (though it does include a few stops in Europe) are included below.

Veteran Detroit DJ/producer Omar-S is celebrating 10 years of operating his FXHE label with a mix album entitled FXHE 10 Year Mix Compilation. The 16-track release is a collection of some of the best songs issued by the enduring label, including a large number of Omar-S’s own tunes. Presenting a tracklist that displays the label’s singular vision for house and techno, FXHE 10 Year Mix Compilation also features music from the likes of Gunnar Wendal (a.k.a. Kassem Mosse), DJ Blend, and Luke Hess. Omar-S recently spoke to Juno Plus about the project, revealing that the mix is the first in a series and stating that it is full of tracks “for the people who might have missed out [the first time around].” The FXHE label mix is set to drop on February 1, but until then, its artwork and tracklist can be viewed below.

Frequent SBTRKT collaborator and increasingly visible hired hand for the likes of Drake, Beyonce, and others, London singer/producer Sampha has released an EP of “early productions” on Bandcamp. Entitled Sundanza, the six-track effort is said to have been “originally released on very-limited, hand-sprayed CD-Rs in 2010,” and furthermore, is now only available as low-quality MP3s due to the fact that, as Sampha tells it, “While away on some adventures away from home, my brother accidentally deleted the master files from my computer, so they exist only as low-quality unmastered MP3s.”

Sampha’s full Sundanza EP can be heard below, and downloaded (for the price of £7) over on Bandcamp. All proceeds from the record’s sales will be donated to the Youth Cancer Trust organization.

Following the announcement of a new 12″ following 2012’s Movement LP, experimental producer/vocalist Holly Herndon has dropped her new record via RVNG today, marking the occasion with a cerebral video for lead track “Chorus.” Created by Akihiko Taniguchi and produced by Mat Dryhurst, the clip is based around Herndon’s body, creative process, and daily necessities such as her laptop, musical equipment, notebooks, and decorative items. Footage jumps between YouTube quality camera views and warped, 3D CGI renderings of the Bay Area artist’s desk as the song cycles through skittering beats and clipped choral passages. As the end of “Chorus” approaches, Herndon is completely engulfed by her daily artifacts just before the computer program which displays the video (and its creation) closes.
