LA tunesmith Salva (pictured above) and Brooklyn party-starter Brenmar have announced plans to tour together in North America throughout the month of January, and have offered a new collaborative tune for free download to help spread the word. Appearing mostly on the West Coast (but in both the States and Canada), Salva and Brenmar are planning to set off dancefloors with their own unique brands of electronic sounds for almost all of January, after which Salva will continue his trot around the US with Daedelus well into March. As Los Angeles-based beatsmith Brendan Angelides (a.k.a. Eskmo) prepares to release the Terra EP, the oddly spiritual producer offers up that record’s opening cut for your pre-release-listening pleasure. The slow and cold sound of “Buffalo” is accented with auto-tuned vocals and bright synths, packaged together as a kind of bubbly, ’80s-sounding pop song. Before Eskmo’s new seven-track record—which is said to explore the “slower [and] slightly darker side” of electronic music—is released via Angelides’ Ancestor label on January 21, you can stream “Buffalo” and check out the artist’s upcoming North American tour dates below.

Montreal house/R&B/garage/bass producer Jacques Greene recently hopped on the decks to create a blissful hour-long mix for The FADER. Effortlessly weaving together his own productions with those by the likes of Basic Soul Unit, Machinedrum, Nautiluss, DIVA, Anthony Naples, and Daphni, among others, the accomplished artist keeps his DJ set uptempo almost the entire time, except when things slow down for cuts from Trey Songz and Nosaj Thing. Though “illustrious” would be a poor way to describe Clifford Joseph Price (a.k.a. Goldie), it would at first seem appropriate as he readies the release of his new triple-disc collection, The Alchemist: The Best of Goldie 1992 – 2012. But upon deeper recollection, it would be more apt to describe the successful DJ, visual artist, actor, former boyfriend of Björk, Metalheadz label don, and—lest we forget—drum & bass pioneer as a superstar. In addition to the two discs of classics that comprise most of Goldie’s Best of collection, which also includes the newly produced “Single Petal of a Rose,” the renaissance man will be including an entire disc of remixes, both by and for the veteran artist. The three-CD set won’t be released in physical or digital forms until March 11 (via FFRR and Metalheadz), but you can view its tracklist now, below.

Though Buraka Som Sistema is infrequently mentioned on XLR8R as of late, the Portuguese outfit’s label has a bit of news for us: Starting today, Enchufada is releasing a bi-monthly series of free singles. Under the banner of Upper Cuts, each free track will appear on the second and fourth Wednesday of every month, with a physical release of the entire collection arriving after a total of six months. Enchufada promises exclusive tracks from such up-and-coming artists as 5kinandbone5, :PAPERCUTZ, Klipar, and other label mates. The first Upper Cuts single is available now, courtesy of Buraka Som Sistema co-founder Branko, who collaborated with Njena Reddd Foxxx (of “Ima Read” fame) on a slice of fiery “ghetto dance music” called “(One More) Silly Bitch.” You can stream and download the track below, and be sure to keep your eyes peeled for the rest of Upper Cuts to appear in the weeks to come.
