Rodney Hazard is a multifaceted artist with a focus on music and art direction. Drawing from a wide range of inspiration, Rodney’s work is a direct reflection of his left-field way of thinking. The son of a Haitian mother and an American Indian/African American father, he fused the rhythms of these cultures with the futuristic sounds of bands like Radiohead, Mount Kimbie, and As Tall As Lions as well as using sounds from his West Indian roots. By day he works at VICE media as an Art Director and by night he DJs.

Faster Lines Up Sonath EP

Faster will release a new EP on French label Sonath.

Suciu Laurentiu (a.k.a Faster) is a Romanian DJ-producer. He started music production at the age of 16. In a short time, he’s released on labels as Acmé, Drumma, Hourglass, and The Rabbit Hole, and made a name for himself as one of the best-kept secrets of the Romanian scene.

With two sides for two tracks, the disc “reflects the ocean’s bad-tempered nature,” the label explains.

Carl Craig Added to Comunité Festival 2018

Comunité Festival has added Carl Craig to its lineup for the upcoming 2018 edition.

As an essential part piece of Detroit’s second generation of techno producers, Carl Craig shouldn’t need much of an introduction. Throughout the years, he has created the acclaimed Planet E Communications label, landing release slots alongside Kevin Saunderson, Alton Miller, Moodymann, and many more.

He joins a lineup already featuring Rhadoo, James Holden & The Animal Spirits (Live Band), Lawrence, and many more.

This year’s edition takes place from January 5 to 6 in Tulum, Mexico, with more information here.

Adam Marshall Next on Maeve

Adam Marshall is next up on Maeve, the label of Mano Le Tough, The Drifter, and Baikal.

Adam Marshall has long been an artist admired by the Maeve label. From featuring in early carnations of Mano Le Tough and The Drifter’s Passion Beat parties to producing tracks like “North at Night” and “Vamping,” Adam has always been an artist that all three of the Maeve founders were eager to work with. Over the course of the last 12 months and through much back and forth, a four-track package finally emerged that all parties now feel ready to release.

We’re told that the Low Poly Nature EP “features several guises of underground electronic music and in parts pushes their boundaries.”

It lands after Mano Le Tough’s Arganol ‘N’ All EP.

Lachlan McFeely Bolt Shares Tripped-Out Video

On November 17, Astral Black released the new album from Glasgow artist Lachlan McFeely Bolt.

Titled Still, the LP reportedly finds Bolt focusing “more on feeling or aesthetic, rather than technical prowess”—although, the production on the record is noticeably accomplished and impressive. Across the nine tracks, Bolt flows through a range of beat-driven cuts that place atmosphere at the forefront, from melodic pop-infused beats to more complex and cerebral outings.

With the release of the album, Bolt has also shared a video for standout cut “2 Scared 2 Say,” an anthemic jungle track that is paired with tripped-out visuals of a night out.

Premiere: Listen to a Haunting New Remix From Artefakt

Early next month, Brothers Black will return to Voxnox Records with a six-track EP, titled Marianas.

The release will feature four tracks on the vinyl edition, with two originals and two remixes, from Berlin-based duo Artefakt and Invite Choice’s Invite. The digital release will also contain two bonus tracks from Brothers Black, along with the vinyl cuts. Across the entire release, Voxnox once again present a sophisticated set of techno cuts, ranging from the rolling grooves of Brothers Black to Artefakt’s haunting atmospheres and Invite’s tense, synth-heavy outing.

Marianas is set to drop on December 6 on vinyl and January 5 and can be pre-ordered here, with Artefakt’s remix streaming in full via the player below.

Look Mum No Computer Gives an Introduction to Modular Synthesis

Back in September, Point Blank hosted a fantastic live modular set from Look Mum No Computer. As a follow up, Point Blank has asked him to detail his processes and sprawling setup, while giving tips on building your own modular rack.

In the video, the artist also known as Sam Battle gives a short lesson in the history of synthesisers, before diving into his homemade setup—which includes oscillators, filters, envelope generators, and analog drums—while offering insight into effects that things like resonance, waveform shape, and voltage have on the sounds that can be made.

Over the years, Revol’s music has popped up on labels like Kolour, Secret Reels, Future Disco, and Monologues, and this latest firmly places him as one of the most exciting newcomers in house music.

In support of the release, Beats Of No Nation has offered up a remix of the EP’s title track from label boss Jad & The, who reits the original to a smooth-as-silk broken-beat framework.

Epizode Festival Announces Day Program and Final Lineup

Epizode Festival has announced its full lineup and day programming for its 2018 edition.

This year’s festival runs from December 31 to January 10, kicking off with Carl Cox on New Year’s Eve before local artists carry the party until the 3rd when Dubfire is the main man. On January 4, French outfit dOP are the headliners, with 50 Weapons’ techno man Bambounou playing with Desolat boss Loco Dice, Rekids‘ Peggy Gou, and Yaya on January 5.

The 6th sees Visionquest’s Ryan Crosson perform alongside Ricardo Villalobos, Dan Andrei, and Luciano. Add to this Stanton Warriors, Sammy Dee, and Japan’s Fumiya Tanaka.

Pan-Pot, Nicole Moudaber, tINI, Marcel Dettmann, Richie Hawtin, Chris Liebing, and Mathew Jonson play towards the end, accompanied by the likes of Âme and Dixon, Nicolas Lutz and Binh, Houndstooth innovator Call Super, Clone man Orgue Electronique, and many more.
