Appearing as part of the pair’s ongoing Testpressing series, Modern Love co-heads Demdike Stare have shared a full stream of its latest 12″ release. Simply titled Testpressing#06, the record offers two menacing new productions from the Manchester duo, with a-side “40 Years Under the Cosh” taking shape as a noise-drenched half-time dancefloor affair, while b-side “Frontin'” methodically slices pulsing textures with sci-fi synth bass. Shadowy Berlin producer and former XLR8R podcast contributor Marquis Hawkes will next land on the Creme Organization imprint with the four-track Maladaptive Brain Dysfunction EP. Slated for an August 25 release, Hawkes’ latest outing will offer a new helping of rough-around-the-edges house tracks, with lead effort “Tunnel” taking a more starry-eyed approach, while the rest of the record appears set to lay down tweaked and filtered synth processions atop percussive rhythmic backbones.

Marking Hawkes’ debut on Creme Organization, all four tracks from the forthcoming Maladaptive Brain Dysfunction EP can be previewed via the player below.

Gerd Janson’s Running Back label boasts an impressive number of talented artists in its catalog, with Todd Terje, Mark E, Redshape, and Phillip Lauer (just to name a few) releasing tracks through the outpost over the years. Now, Berlin-based producer Thomalla is set to debut on the label with the upcoming Mood Swings Skewed Things EP. The five-track affair is said to be “built for an universe in which James Holden is the caretaker,” with its tracks further described as “slices of romantic Krautpop-glitch-house that pleasantly diverge from the current state of dance affairs.”

Serving as our first taste is “Never True,” the EP’s rich digital bonus track, which can be streamed in full below, where one will also find the full tracklist for Thomalla’s forthcoming Mood Swings Skewed Things EP, out in vinyl form on August 18 and in digital form on August 25.

Hubie Davison has revealed details for his upcoming sophomore EP, set for release via Berlin-based label and leftfield club night Leisure System. Davison’s Khayyam Grey EP reportedly finds the Irish producer moving in the direction of “peak-time house music,” while maintaining the “psychedelic sampling” techniques seen on last year’s strong debut, I Won’t Be There.

The three-track affair is set to land on November 3, and in the meantime, a remix of “I Won’t Be There” from UK duo Letherette—which will appear on a new digital version of the I Won’t Be There EP—can be streamed in full below. In addition both the artwork and tracklist for Davison’s upcoming Khayyam Grey EP have also been included below.

Midland will return to Will Saul’s Aus label with the three-track Duster EP in September. Said to continue the trend of keeping “his listeners guessing,” Midland’s upcoming EP follows behind his recent “Before We Leave” 12″ for the Phonica White label. Led by its shuffling title track, the forthcoming Duster EP is said to see the consistently impressive London producer “draw out immersive pads and understated melody over the top of percussive grit.”

Duster is slated to be released on September 15. in the meantime, the record’s artwork and tracklist have been included below.

Earlier this week, XLR8Rpremiered the latest offering from George FitzGerald’s ManMakeMusic label—an EP from London producer Shenoda—and today, the label revealed that Tokyo-based composer Phil Gerus has been tapped for its next release. A relative newcomer to the scene, the Moscow-born producer’s sound reportedly draws from iconic jazz musicians like Keith Jarrett and Bill Evans, and the funk and boogie of the ’80s and ’90s. His forthcoming effort, Opposites Left Together, follows from a pair of 12″s issued in 2012 by Fuselab and Sonar Kollectiv, and is due out as both a 10″ vinyl and digital release on September 8. Until then, a teaser video (made with footage shot in Shibuya, Tokyo) has been posted below, along with both the EP’s artwork and full tracklist.

Following the release of the excellent Body Issues cassette via Opal Tapes last year (a record that was eventually chosen to launch the label’s vinyl offshoot), Brooklyn producer Patricia has revealed plans to issue a new EP via Ghostly’s Spectral Sound imprint next month. Containing three new original productions and a remix from Ghostly veteran Tadd Mullinix under his JTC alias—under which he delivered an exclusive XLR8R podcast earlier this year—Patricia’s forthcoming Side Piece EP is said to be “built from cinderblock kick drums, soot-covered modular synths, hissy tape recordings, and equal parts early Aphex Twin and Underground Resistance.”

Slated to drop on August 25, the EP’s muffled lead cut, “Drip Dawn,” can be streamed in full below, where the full tracklist for Patricia’s Spectral Sound debut has also been included.
