Independent labels Darker Than Wax, based in Singapore, and France’s Cascade imprint have teamed up on the forthcoming Feelings in Colour compilation. As a preview to the 17-track release (due out in mid-June), we have ”I Need You” from Austrian producer Milo Mills. The track pays homage to 2-step, garage, UK bass music, and future beats with pitched-up vocals, a classic break, and side-chained pads for added groove. The full release will also feature cuts from artists like Amin Payne, OhBliv, ILL SUGI, and Cosa Nostra when it drops next month.
Following up on the release of its fifth LP, Eve (which dropped late last year), longstanding German duo Booka Shade have announced plans to release a new remix EP for album track “Love Drug,” featuring reworks from the group itself and Maya Jane Coles, among others. Along with news of the upcoming effort, Booka Shade have shared a new video for “Love Drug,” which features the vocal talents of Fritz Helder, a frequent collaborator of the now defunct Azari & III production pair. Built around a cascading array of neon shapes and glowing patterns, the video for the melody-striped club tune is premiering below.
Booka Shade’s Love Drug EP will hit Beatport on May 30 via Blaufield Music/ Embassy One. In the meantime, the clip for “Love Drug” can be watched below, where the upcoming EP’s full tracklist and a list of Booka Shade’s upcoming tour dates have also been included.

Lifted from Leaving label boss Matthewdavid’s forthcoming In My World LP (set to drop on July 1) is “Artforms,” a psychedelic sonic whirlwind marked by the presence of booming kicks and thick layers of the producer’s own vocals. Also included below is New York artist Taylor McFerrin’s insatiably jazzy “Already There,” taken from his upcoming Early Riser album (out June 3), and featuring pianist and producer Robert Glasper and Brainfeeder affiliate Thundercat in its run. Both tracks can be heard in their entirety below prior to their respective release dates.
Genre-crossing Atlanta producer/DJ Distal has turned in a new mix which can be streamed and downloaded now. Appearing via Mexican event series Ensamble ahead of his performance for the party on May 31, Distal’s mix is a fast-paced voyage through the upper ends of the BPM spectrum, with a slew of future-minded beats and juke-indebted rhythms heard throughout. The Stateside producer’s latest set can be heard below, where the mix’s accompanying tracklist has also been included.

With releases to his name for Hemlock, Numbers, and Turbo’s Warehouse Series, among others, London DJ/producer Randomer will issue his next effort via the Clone Basement Series. The four-track Stupid Things I Do EP will offer two “heavy mixes” of the record’s titular track on its a-side, while the flip is said to host a pair of aptly named DJ tools in “Percussion Workout 1” and “Percussion Workout 2.” Randomer’s latest effort is expected to drop sometime in the coming weeks, but can previewed below ahead of its release; the record’s full tracklist has also been included below.

Fledgling Detroit label Crisis Urbana is set to drop a new cassette this week, a split affair between budding hometown outfit Ter(r)a and Chapel Hill experimenter Lazy Magnet. Here, we have the tape’s opening effort, “Dumo,” Ter(r)a’s loose-swung jaunt into the cooler ends of house. Fashioned around the familiar pulse of a steady drum machine, the production remains focused on a bluesy set of chords, which are joined by an evolving procession of tweaked synth arpeggios, refracted vocal samples, and a subtly grooving bassline. “Dumo” will be available alongside four other six other Ter(r)a originals and an untitled, one-sided work from Lazy Magnet when the outfits’ split cassette drops today; the full effort can be heard over on Crisis Urbana’s Bandcamp page.
With his 25th anniversary compilation, N.O.W. is the Time, set to drop via Warp next month, the long and fruitful career of George Evelyn (a.k.a. Nightmares on Wax) is now the subject of a new documentary. Also entitled N.O.W. is the Time, the eight-minute film chronicles the genesis and evolution of the Nightmares on Wax project over the course of a series of interviews with Evelyn, who shows off his home studio and his immense record collection in the process. Returning for its third season at Ibiza’s Space superclub, Richie Hawtin‘s ENTER. weekly has revealed its full line-up for this summer, including the likes of Maya Jane Coles, Dixon, Nina Kraviz, Voices from the Lake, Mano Le Tough, and more.
Running from July 3 through October 2, ENTER.’s 2014 run will be the longest so far of the weekly Thursday event, which will host 14 shows in total. Taking on the theme “Explore.Discover,” ENTER. will offer a variety of experiences inside Space with big name DJs and more up-and-coming acts all set to provide choice selections in a number of unique environments. Along with Hawtin, Nina Kraviz, Maya Jane Coles, Maceo Plex, Tale of Us, Dubfire, Paco Osuna, and Recondite will all serve as ENTER. residents for 2014, making regular appearances at the event throughout its four-month run. Among the long list of other DJ/producers slated to touch down at Hawtin’s weekly Ibiza gathering are Dixon, Apollonia, Voices from the Lake, Mano Le Tough, Deepchord, Claude VonStroke, DJ Tennis, and TM404.

London-based house duo Dusky has announced the launch of its own imprint, 17 Steps. The label reportedly draws from group members Alfie Granger-Howell’s and Nick Harriman’s love for British rave aesthetics, and will serve as a platform for both their own collaborative releases as well as those of other artists. The UK outfit will inaugurate 17 Steps in mid-July with its Love Taking Over EP, which follows recent issues on Will Saul’s Aus and Loefah’s School imprint, a BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix, and a string of heavily played singles.
For now, a small snippet of the Love Taking Over EP’s title track can be heard here, and the record’s artwork and tracklist have been included below. Dusky also have a string of upcoming summer tour dates, the complete list of which can also be found below.

With a production career stretching back to 2007, it seems only natural for the Mexican-born, now Berlin-based producer Cubenx (a.k.a. César Urbina) to stick with the multi-national InFiné outpost for the release of his upcoming Mercurial EP. Before the record officially drops on May 26, Urbina has passed along “First Wave Front,” a four-to-the-floor techno cut that lurches forward with thumping low-end and a growling bassline. As the tune evolves, crisp claps, airy hats, hand-slapped drums, and moody synth pads elevate Urbina’s production as rolling percussion picks up the pace.
