The Glasgow-based Numbers label has revealed an upcoming single from Darq E Freaker. In addition to a solo EP on Boogaloo City and a handful of singles, the young UK artist is recognizable for his collaborations with Detroit rapper Danny Brown, and as a member in London-based grime collective Nu Brand Flexx. His forthcoming two-track effort for the label marks Freaker’s inaugural submission for Numbers, which has overseen releases from Doc Daneeka, Hudson Mohawke, and more.

Perhaps most indebted to Rustie‘s more hyperactive appearances for the imprint, the single’s titular “Minger” track layers skewed synths that rise over a lurching, bass-heavy beat. Gerd Janson has delivered the latest mix for Little White Earbuds‘ podcast series. Janson, who also produces as Tuff City Kids together with Phillip Lauer, has honed his selection skills as a resident at famed German clubs Robert Johnson and Panorama Bar, and as a Red Bull Music Academy affiliate, music journalist, and critic. He also heads up the Running Back label, which has built an impressive roster of contributing artists (including Mark E, Theo Parrish, and Todd Terje) since its launch in 2002.

For LWE Podcast 199: Gerd Janson, the veteran selector supplies a nearly 90-minute mix of typically on-point tracks, while also sounding off on his approach to A&R, Running Back reissues, and what’s coming up next for the label in the set’s accompanying interview. Next week Clouds will deliver the Boys on E. Terriers EP, its second effort for the longstanding Soma label. Ahead of the three-track record’s official release, the entire affair can now be streamed exclusively via XLR8R.

Boys on E. Terriers wastes little digging into the type of hard-edged techno hybrids Clouds has proven extremely adept at crafting in recent years. Opening cut “Teenage Boy” find the Scottish duo chopping up machine rhythms, on top of which thick doses of ravey synths help the production carve a mighty path towards the dancefloor. The following “Elevator Girl” and “Genista Cave 4” further build on that momentum, the boomy tracks’ forceful kicks and snares joined by brooding bass and gloomy layers of sci-fi synths.

Last month, industrious Night Slugs label boss Bok Bok (a.k.a. Alex Sushon) announced details of his forthcoming Your Charizmatic Self EP, the London producer/DJ’s first multi-track work since 2011’s Southside EP. Now, Bok Bok has provided a full stream of his forthcoming record along with news of an upcoming world tour. Opening with the previously released single “Melba’s Call,” featuring LA vocalist Kelela, Your Charizmatic Self can be streamed in full now via NPR.

Coinciding with the EP’s release on May 26, the UK artist will embark on a three-month world tour which will see him cover four continents; beginning in Hong Kong, traveling through Australia and Europe, and finishing out on the US’ West Coast. The corresponding tour dates are listed in their entirety on the flier below. Increasingly prolific tech house auteur Maceo Plex has revealed plans to release a single-sided 10″ vinyl via Cologne staple Kompakt in July. Entitled “Conjure Superstar,” the forthcoming single appears to be part of Plex’s ongoing Conjure series of releases, the first of which—appropriately titled Conjure One—appeared via the Barcelona-based producer/DJ’s own Ellum Audio label back in March, while Conjure Two is set to drop via Richie Hawtin’s Minus label on June 9.

Plex’s single-sided, red-colored 10″ single for Kompakt will see its release on July 28. In the meantime, the artwork for “Conjure Superstar” has been included below.

Best known as half of Brooklyn’s formidable Mister Saturday Night outfit—who recently delivered a standout XLR8R podcast—Eamon Harkin has revealed details of his upcoming Back Down EP, dropping via the Argot label next month.

The forthcoming two-track endeavor comes after a two-year silence on the release front for Eamon, who has spent the better part of the last 24 months continuing to build the reputation of his renowned Mister Saturday Night party as well as co-founding the event’s fast-growing label arm, which is set to release a comprehensive compilation in late June. On his own upcoming EP, Eamon is said to deliver “a saber-toothed, bass-heavy take on techno with an unexpected tender side.” Before Back Down sees an official release on June 17, both tracks from the forthcoming effort can be previewed below.

London producer and Cosmic Bridge label head Om Unit (real name Jim Coles, pictured above) will release an upcoming collection of tracks which highlight the “new wave of beat production” and “slow/fast” sound his imprint has focused on since its launch in 2011. Featuring works from Kromestar, former Various Production member EAN, Planet Mu mainstay Boxcutter, and more, the nine-track comp—titled Cosmology—will also contain three collaborations from Om Unit himself.

Cosmology will serve as the first compilation to come from Coles’ Cosmic Bridge label when it drops in digital form on July 21. In the meantime, the complete tracklist and artwork for the upcoming record can be found below.
