Next week, longstanding UK production duo Plaid (a.k.a. Ed Handley and Andy Turner) will release its seventh proper studio album, Reachy Prints, via Warp, the pair’s regular label home since debuting on the imprint in 1997. Said to be a record which finds the pair continuing to develop its “trademark emotive, yet playful, signature style,” the nine-track effort is now streaming in full ahead of its release.

Officially out on May 19, Reachy Prints has gotten a full stream courtesy of Clash, who have accompanied its preview of the record with a few choice words from the veteran production outfit. Clash’s brief interview and Plaid’s full record can be found here.

Dark Sky has appeared on a number of different labels since the trio of Matt Benyayer, Thomas Edwards, and Carlo Anderson first surfaced in 2010, dropping releases for the likes of Black Acre, Blunted Robots, Pictures Music, Mister Saturday Night, Tectonic, and 50Weapons. As it turns out, 2014 will see the bass-centric UK trio offering up both a new single and its debut full-length with yet another imprint, 50Weapons’ parent label Monkeytown. Preceding the album will be a new single, “Silent Fall” b/w “Odyssey,” which is slated to appear on August 1. As for the LP, few details have been shared, other than that its writing was “heavily influenced by how [Dark Sky] were going to interpret it in a live scenario, which is how [the trio] will be touring the album in the very near future.” More specifically though, Dark Sky has unveiled the record’s title, imagin, and its August 22 release date. Lastly, the group has put together a short video teaser for the LP, which has been posted below, along with the artwork for both of its upcoming releases.

Napolian (LA-based Ian Evans’ production alias) has shared a new track from his forthcoming debut LP, Incursio, set to drop later this month via Daniel Lopatin’s Software imprint. Featured in the video below, the biblically titled “1 Peter 1:3-4” is an upbeat cut that plays off filtered chord stabs and loopy, kazoo-like melodies. Napolian’s full 14-track record, which follows last year’s Rejoice EP for the label, is slated to see a release on May 24. Until then, “1 Peter 1:3-4” can be watched/streamed in full below.

Back in March, former Stateside producer/DJ David Sumner (a.k.a. Function) revealed that he planned to relaunch his Infrastructure New York label, an imprint which had remained largely dormant since 2006 as Sumner had begun to focus on his role in the Sandwell District collective, at the same time relocating to Berlin. Now the veteran artist and longtime collaborator Ed Davenport (a.k.a. Inland) have combined forces to revive the label, and together deliver its first new release, Odeon/Rhyl, set to drop next week, but streaming in full now via XLR8R.

Working together on both of the record’s efforts, Sumner and Davenport jointly craft deep techno excursions which utilize crisp rhythmic components to serve as the base to the EP’s lattice-like synth structures. The resulting tracks are as rich as one would expect from a pair of accomplished producers of this class; unhurried Sumner and Davenport stretch out into their productions, allowing the sonic fields to evolve at a gradually enveloping pace.

Function and Inland’s Odeon/Rhyl is set to see its official release on Monday, May 19. In the meantime, the entire affair can be streamed in full below.

Established techno DJ/producer and Kompakt co-founder Michael Mayer will kick off his US tour—an annual expedition for the German talent—in Philladelphia this Thursday, May 15. The week-long jaunt will see Mayer make his way from coast to coast before finally wrapping up at the Movement festival in Detroit. Throughout his stint, Mayer will play alongside the likes of Dave P, Danny Daze, Taimur & Fahad, and more. The man’s full upcoming US tour schedule can be found below.

With the release of his Awake LP for Ghostly just over a month in the rearview, Tycho has shared a new video for heavenly LP cut “See.” Directed by Bradley G Munkowitz, the five-plus-minute clip follows the adventures of a young woman who wakes up—seemingly without knowing why—in the middle of a forest. As she follows a number of symbols and shadowy figures throughout her journey, Tycho’s lush production unfolds, with its driving rhythms buried under heavy layers of reverb-washed guitar strums and bright synth melodies. Since 2008, Toronto-based duo Jokers of the Scene (a.k.a. Linus Booth and Chris Macintyre) have turned out a steady stream of solid singles and EPs, which will soon be added to with the arrival of its forthcoming debut album, End Scene. But before the record drops later this month, the pair has shared a tripped-out new video. Landing on May 26, Jokers of the Scene’s 11-track LP will be co-released by New Kanada and Throne of Blood, with each production said to be paired with an accompanying short video directed by Sean Dack, the first of which—for chrome-plated album cut “Channels for Success”—has been included below.

End Scene will be issued on vinyl, cassette, and digital forms, with the digital version containing bonus track “A Lovely Sort of Death (Alternate Ending),” and the cassette version including an assortment of additional bonus cuts.
