Earlier this year, Chicago producer Thug Entrancer (a.k.a. Ryan McRhyhew) mixed footwork, IDM, and analog hardware on Death After Life, his potently creative LP debut on Software. Now he’s revisiting that album with a video for “Death After Life VI,” an atmospheric track that split off from that record’s dominant juke-centric theme. The tune’s new visual accompaniment comes courtesy of director Sabrina Ratté, who translates the song’s trippy edge into a computer-generated maze that snakes through hallways of warping psychedelia. Warp‘s resident downer-pop trio Darkstar will make a quick trip stateside along with labelmate patten in the coming weeks. To mark the occasion, the outfit has passed along a free mix featuring a diverse set of tunes and what appears to be an unreleased Zomby production. Beginning at Moogfest on April 25, the Warp artists are set to make the trip north to Brooklyn before heading to the West Coast for two consecutive dates. In the meantime, Darkstar’s 10-track, 30-minute “DJ Mix” can be streamed and downloaded below, where details of Darkstar’s and patten’s upcoming US tour can also be found.

Hard-hitting Scottish techno duo Clouds (whose press photos seem to always feature only one member) will return to the Soma label with a follow-up EP to last year’s Complete Control, its debut on the respected Glaswegian imprint. Tilted Boys on E. Terriers, the forthcoming effort appears to pick up where the duo last left off, with three booming and ravey cuts that its press release describes as evoking “images of firefights above dystopian cities.” That idea is fully fleshed out from the start, beginning with the crunchy broken-beat loops of opener “Teenage Boy,” while the EP’s other cuts, “Elevator Girl” and “Genista Cave 4,” approach a similarly bombastic level of sci-fi dancefloor gloom. Clouds’ second record for Soma will see a release on May 26. In the meantime, its artwork and tracklist are included below.

Bulgarian producer KiNK (a.k.a. Strahil Velchev) has been selected as the performer in the latest edition of Resident Advisor’s RA Sessions video series. Calling on the same energy that’s made him a renowned live act, here KiNK offers a techno-tinged set that mixes improvised stretches with “Source of Uncertainty,” a new track from Under Destruction, his forthcoming debut LP set to drop on May 5 via Macro. Before that record hits, the man’s 11-minute session for RA can be watched in full below.

With the release of his debut LP earlier this week via the Donky Pitch label, Scottish producer Lockah has been tapped to deliver the latest set for Dummy‘s mix series. The roughly 40-minute mix finds the recent Bubblin’ Up artist indulging in vintage sounds with tracks from Kraftwerk, The Human League, Arabian Prince, and Afrika Bambaataa appearing alongside a few more current cuts, mostly from Lockah himself. Over his career, Romanian DJ/producer Cosmin TRG has released music with Hessle Audio, Hemlock, Running Back, Rush Hour, 50Weapons, and a number of other reputable imprints, building an impressively wide-spanning catalog in the process. Now, Cosmin TRG will add a label of his own to that list, with plans to launch the Fizic imprint with a new two-track 12″ in June. A press release explains that TRG’s new label will focus on “releasing esoteric techno aimed largely at the dancefloor and purely from his own studio.” Furthermore, Fizic is said to come from the producer’s need for “a more personal, dedicated approach, [and] a desire for artistic freedom.”

Set to drop on June 2, Fizic’s inaugural release will feature two new Cosmin TRG productions, whose “heavyweight slabs of deep, texturally rich techno” are said to set the tone for the label moving forward. Before Fizic 01 launches Cosmin TRG’s new label endeavor in the weeks to come, the artwork and tracklist for the forthcoming 12″ are included below.
