After releasing a five-part EP series via the venerable Mute imprint over the past few years, Diamond Version (a.k.a. Raster-Noton mainstays Alva Noto and Byetone) is now set to release its debut LP for the label on June 2. Titled CI (standing for “Corporate Identity”), the pair is teasing the album with a stream of “Were You There?,” which features Pet Shop Boys’ Neil Tennant on vocal duties. The duo reportedly say that the album will take on a considerably different sound than its previous EPs, explaining, “If you think about how the first 12″ sounds and now the album, there’s a big difference. We are more song-oriented at the moment, and this was something that we weren’t so interested in in the beginning. We wanted to involve messages and samples—vocals and lyrics.”

Before CI‘s release, Diamond Version will embark on a short stint of European tour dates lasting from the end of April through late June. Those live dates, as well as the complete tracklist for CI, are included below, where the pair’s newly minted “Were You There” tune can also be streamed in full. (via Resident Advisor)

Over the years, Tim Sweeney’s Beats in Space WNYU radio program has set a high mark for mixes; nearly every major figure in underground dance music has appeared on the program. That being said, last Tuesday’s show with Anthony Parasole offered something special. The long-time New Yorker, and head of the techno-leaning The Corner imprint, played a set comprised solely of looped-up, space-age tracks from pioneering producer/DJ Jeff Mills. Parasole’s mix was so good that even Victor from Washington Heights (a cranky regular caller to the show) gave it his approval.

There’s no tracklisting for the hour-long mix, but Parasole’s full set can be heard below. In addition, L.I.E.S. boss Ron Morelli also delivered a set for the episode, which has been included below as well.

Fresh off the release his new Awake LP for Ghostly—and having recently offered up a set of Artist Tips for our Gear section—San Francisco producer Tycho has put together a breezy new mix. Clocking in at almost 73 minutes, Tycho’s session for The FADER offers up a helping of summery tunes, touching on effervescent hip-hop beats, throwback synth jams, and melancholy electronics in the course of its run. Though there is no tracklist included, Tycho’s dynamic set can be streamed and downloaded in full below; The FADER‘s accompanying interview, which covers everything from Tycho’s current tour schedule to food preferences, can be read here.

Leaving label head and consistently unpredictable production force Matthewdavid has announced his sophomore LP, In My World, will see a release this summer via Brainfeeder. Landing over two years after the LA producer’s 2011 debut LP, Outmind, the announcement of Matthewdavid’s second album so far comes with few details other than its release date, July 1, and a full stream of the record’s title track.

Eschewing much of the hazy, ambient structures which marked the man’s debut outing, “In My World” is a soul-drenched cut which features a bevy of doo-wop samples and a particularly unexpected vocal performance from Matthewdavid himself, which finds the SoCal resident rap-singing about all the wonderful things which can be found in his world. The full track can be streamed below before more details of Matthewdavid’s forthcoming sophomore LP arrive.

Berlin DJ and a resident of Berghain and the Panorama Bar, Ryan Elliot has been enlisted to put together the sixth edition of Ostgut Ton‘s Panorama Bar mix series. Though the announcement currently comes with few details, it does come with word that the Ostgut Ton label has decided to “move away from the CD format” for the series, revealing that the upcoming mix will appear “in a new form.” As Resident Advisor reports, Elliot’s contribution—which follows behind last year’s excellent session for the series from Steffi—is in the midst of being compiled. “Ryan is already busy selecting music for his mix,” the label explained on its Facebook page, “and we have already secured several exclusive tracks that will also be released on two Ostgut Ton 12-inches and will feature some of Ryan’s favorite artists and several Panorama Bar regulars.”

Elliot’s contribution to the well-regarded series. Panorama Bar 06, and its accompanying 12″s are set to appear sometime in July.

Following the release of his debut solo EP, Deleted/Fool, LA producer (and former XLR8R podcast contributor) Jerome LOL (a.k.a. Jerome Potter) has kept himself rather busy, spending a lot of time on the DJ circuit and continuing to build the Body High label with co-founder Samo Sound Boy. Next month, Potter will be extending this active streak, as he’ll be embarking on a two-week jaunt around North America alongside UK selector and Rinse FM standout Oneman. The complete tour itinerary has been posted below, but the trek will find the two DJs criss-crossing the continent and making a few stops in Canada along the way. In conjunction with the tour announcement, Potter has also elected to share one of his signature edits, a slow-motion rework of Imgoen Heap’s “Hide and Seek,” which can also be streamed and downloaded below.

Amsterdam’s Rush Hour label has announced details of the forthcoming second installment in Rick Wilhite‘s Vibes New and Rare Music compilation series. Like its predecessor, Vibes New and Rare Music 2 is named after the Detroit house legend’s renowned—but sadly now defunct—record store, and features new tracks from some of the most promising (and established) figures in house music such as Moodymann, DJ Stingray, Orlando Voorn, and K-Alexi. The compilation will be released sometime next month, first split across two vinyl EPs, and then later collected onto a single CD. The album art and tracklistings for Wilhite’s Vibes New and Rare Music 2 are included below, and previews of the tracks included in Part 1 and Part 2 of the upcoming collection can be streamed here and here, respectively.

Earlier this week, Four Tet (a.k.a. Kieran Hebden) surprised everyone with an announcement that his Text label would soon be releasing a new trio of 12″s. One of the three will feature sounds from a largely unknown producer named Taraval, but the other two will contain music from Four Tet himself, operating under the name Percussions. At the time, Hebden also posted a stream of one of the Percussions tunes, “Blatant Water Cannon.” Yesterday, he added to the anticipation by sharing a stream of an additional track, “Ascii Bot.” The driving, synth-heavy tune will appear on the same record as “Blatant Water Cannon,” while the other Percussions 12″ will contain “KHLHI” and “Sext,” two songs that have yet to be unveiled. All three of the new Text releases are scheduled to be released around April 28, but in the meantime, “Ascii Bot” is streaming below.
