With a week left before Luke Vibert‘s acid-obsessed Ridmik LP arrives via Hypercolour, we’ve gotten our hands on an exclusive stream of the highly anticipated effort’s title track. A drum machine’s simple bounce, a handful of modulated chords, and the subtlest of acid tweaks is all Vibert wields on the opening of his new album. Unlike the uptempo first single that appeared earlier this month, “Ridmik” is a calm and uncomplicated ride through the classic sounds of Roland’s TB-303, and one led by a veteran producer at that. Vibert’s new production can be streamed in full before his Ridmik LP sees its official release on April 7, below.

Back in 2012, when we first ran a Bubblin’ Up feature on Barcelona duo Downliners Sekt, the pair was in the midst of prepping a new album. Then, in our recent profile of Barcelona’s emerging talents, the outfit informed us yet again that a full-length was in the works. Now, after months of patiently waiting, Downliners Sekt’s Silent Ascent is set to arrive next week, but before then, the LP is streaming in full exclusively on XLR8R.

Across its 12 tracks, Silent Ascent continually maps points of sonic convergence, melding Downliners Sekt’s keen ability for crafting finite sound design and detailed textures with club-minded aesthetics and dancefloor-ready sonics. The resulting album showcases a hybrid style unique to the Barcelona pair. Before Silent Ascent sees a full release on April 7 via the InFiné label, the record can be heard in its entirety below.

2. This week’s episode of Electronic Beats’ Slices video series featured a conversation between German trio Moderat and UK producer Jon Hopkins, and included footage from their recent performances in Berlin.

3. Canadian producer Teen Daze gave away a free EP (with three of his dreamy synth concoctions) to coincide with his current European tour.

4. Four Tet recently performed at Boiler Room’s enormous SXSW warehouse party, and the video of his set surfaced online this week.

5. A new DJ Koze remix 12″ was released this week, and streams of its two reworks—one each from Robag Wruhme and Roman Flügel—were posted online.

6. Maverick Detroit producer Moodymann unveiled a new video for “Sloppy Cosmic,” a remix of Funkadelic’s “Cosmic Slop” that closed out his recent EP.

7. Hudson Mohawke will hitting the road pretty heavily in the months ahead, and he shared the complete list of his upcoming tour dates, which includes stops across Europe and North America.

8. Jamie xx will soon be releasing a new 12″, a two-track effort for Young Turks. The record drops in May, but a stream of one song was posted online.

9. London producer DJ Q was at the helm of the latest Hi-Five, in which he selected his favorite UK garage bootlegs.

10. Todd Terje’s debut full-length won’t be released until April, but another one of its efforts was shared online this week. “Johnny and Mary” is a poignant slow jam (and a Robert Palmer cover) that finds Terje collaborating with Bryan Ferry.

Axel Wilner, the Swedish producer who makes intricately detailed ambient-techno as The Field, has remained quite active following last year’s release of his Cupid’s Head LP—producing remixes, getting remixed, and even readying his remarkable debut album, From Here We Go Sublime, to be released on vinyl for the first time ever. His streak continues today with the unveiling of a brand-new remix Wilner did for fellow Swedes I Break Horses. And what a track it is: 11 epic minutes of motorik dance rhythms, churning synth patterns, dense atmospheres, and miniscule samples comprise “Faith (The Field Remix).” The tune precedes I Break Horses’ upcoming US tour, the dates of which can be seen below, where Wilner’s new remix is also available to stream.

Set to drop late next month via Editions Mego, the lead track from Fennesz‘s upcomingBécs LP has surfaced. In its opening moments, “Static Kings” incorporates effects-heavy acoustic guitar amongst an engulfing bed of flowing soundscapes. This tranquil beginning eventually gives way to a more burnt aesthetic, where the singe of digital distortion and growing mass of heavenly sonic layers seem to struggle to push past each other. In other words, it’s a beautiful six-minute mess. Below, Fennesz’s “Static Kings” can be streamed in full before Bécs sees its official release on April 29.

Originally serving as a home for releases from Regis, Sleeparchive, and a number of other accomplished techno explorers, Function‘s Infrastructure New York label has laid dormant since 2006, when the formerly stateside producer began to focus on his role in Sandwell District before eventually relocating to Berlin. Now, Function (pictured above) has decided to reopen Infrastructure’s doors, enlisting fellow Berliner Ed Davenport to help run the label and collaborate on the first release from the newly revived imprint.

“The focus will be on melding classic ideals with a modern viewpoint,” Function (real name David Sumner) explains in a press release. “[The label] will not only [have] new releases, but also a healthy serving of reissue packages and licenses.” Furthermore, Sumner has already mapped out many of the label’s first releases, revealing that “Ed [Davenport], myself, Adam X, Vatican Shadow, and Mark Archer (a.k.a. Altern8/Nexus 21)” will deliver efforts for the label, along with “appearances by Luke Slater and Marcel Dettmann.” Sumner also has plans to release records from two breaking artists in Australia’s Campbell Irvine and Argentinian producer Mariano DC.

Infrastructure New York’s first release will drop on May 12 in the form of a collaboration between Sumner (as Function) and Davenport (as Inland). The artwork and tracklist for that release are included below. The label will follow-up Sumner’s and Davenport’s Odeon/Rhyl EP with Campbell Irvine’s debut, Removal Of The Six Armed Goddess, on June 2.

Appearing on BBC Radio 1 last night, Hessle Audio co-founder Ben UFO broadcasted a brand-new mix of classic jungle music sourced solely from vinyl. The busy DJ’s breakneck creation leaves listeners little breathing room, as its jam-packed 30 minutes features tracks from the likes of Klute, Ed Rush & Nico, Dillinja, Source Direct’s Hokusai alias, and others.
