Now that we have all the details of Mark E‘s forthcoming Product of Industry LP for Spectral Sound, the UK DJ/producer has been letting go of some of its music. The chugging techno of lead single “Bog Dance” appeared back in early February, and the latest tune to arrive is “Being Hiding” (artwork above), a slow-bouncing, piano-laced slice of dancefloor fare. It’s a soulful house number featuring the vocal talents of Phenomenal Handclap Band’s Bing Ji Ling, whose smoothed-out melodies weave through Mark E’s wide array of analog synth timbres and chunky rhythms. Ahead of its release as part of Product of Industry on April 28, “Being Hiding” can be heard in its entirety in the player below.

Although Jamie xx has been making increasingly regular appearances on the international DJ circuit in the past few years—even as his band, The xx, has been quite busy touring the globe—he hasn’t released new solo material, apart from a few remixes, since 2011. That will soon change, as he’s put together a new, two-track 12″ for Young Turks. “G.I.R.L.” b/w “Sleep Sound” is scheduled for release on May 5, and the latter track, which finds Jamie xx exploring a shuffling, laid-back house groove, is now streaming online. After announcing plans to drop a new solo EP via Houndstooth (our top label of 2013), Throwing Snow has since unveiled the four-track effort, and is now giving us a full stream of EP closer “Summus.” The moody production rushes forward with a bed of orchestral tones and gritty pads, all of which eventually fall prey to the assemblage of heavily compressed, redlined drum samples charging ahead in the song’s latter half. “Summus” can be streamed in full below; Throwing Snow’s Pathfinder EP is out now.

Burgeoning Manchester producer Illum Sphere is only a couple of months off the release of his Ghosts of Then and Now album for Ninja Tune, but he already has a new EP set to drop around Record Store Day next month, an eight-song record which offers new original tracks and a handful of remixes. Featuring productions from the likes of Legowelt, Lone, and Zed Bias (the latter two of which can be heard here and here, respectively), the Spectre Vex EP will be housed in “a matte-black, flute-cardboard carton envelope,” along with four prints by photographer Silvia Graf as inserts, and pressed onto two 180g 12″s.

Before Illum Sphere’s limited-edition release arrives on April 19 for Record Store Day, its nearly nine-minute title track can be streamed in full below, where the tracklist for Spectre Vex is also included. More details on the release, as well as photos of its packaging, can be found here.

Detroit techno pioneer Kevin Saunderson recently chatted with FACT TV while sifting through some stacks of wax at London’s Lucky Seven record store. Saunderson speaks candidly about his son Dantiez Saunderson’s increasing involvement with his KMS label, going on to explain how Dantiez’s musical persuits have also inspired him to create new music. Saunderson goes on to discuss buying his first record (Alexander Robotnick’s Ce N’Est Q’Un Début LP), talks about how lately he only searches for vinyl that he can’t find digitally, and concludes his session by elaborating on his upcoming “Origins” showcase which will be featured at Detroit’s Movement festival this May. Increasingly high-profile producer and Warp mainstay Hudson Mohawke has announced a string of upcoming international tour dates, including stops in North America in May and again in July. With performances booked from next week through to August, Mohawke appears set to have a very busy spring and summer ahead of him, an excursion which will at one point find the Glasgow native touching down in NYC for the inaugural edition of Red Bull Music Academy’s festival.
