The Czech Republic and Slovakia aren’t exactly countries known for churning out high-profile electronic artists, but Top Billin’ has sought to showcase the depth of talent that calls those countries home, compiling eight cuts from the region’s leading producers as part of the label’s ongoing Country Series. Here, we have the contribution from Slovakia’s Mitewort, a track that has roots in Berlin’s darker techno veins but is infused with intricately layered percussion and topped off with a touch of pitched vocals repeating the phrase that gives the song its title, “Country Club.” Out now, the eight-track collection (artwork above) was put together in collaboration with Prague label Neo Violence, and can be previewed after the jump, where you’ll also find its complete tracklist.

DJ /rupture Announces New LP as Jace Clayton

Last we heard from Brooklyn DJ/producer/label head/academic/global music aficionado DJ /rupture, the artist born Jace Clayton was giving an Ableton seminar on his intriguing Sufi Plug-Ins and giving away basically every mix he’s ever released. It’s been almost three years since the once prolific artist dropped any kind of music with his name on it, let alone any original material, but that will soon change when Clayton unveils The Julius Eastman Memory Depot, the first album released under his given name. The forthcoming LP was recorded with the help of pianists David Friend and Emily Manzo and Sufi vocalist Arooj Aftab, and is said to be a collection of the ideas uncovered during Clayton’s recent performances of re-imagined compositions by the late Julius Eastman, a gay African American composer, pianist, vocalist, and dancer noted for his minimalism. The record ends with one wholly original piece, called “Callback from the American Society of Eastman Supporters.” Speaking on his forthcoming album, Clayton says, “I interpret the open-ended, irreverent nature of Julius Eastman’s legacy as a call to conversation.” Before it’s released on March 26 via Brooklyn’s New Amsterdam label, you can hear a snippet of The Julius Eastman Memory Depot over on Pitchfork, here, and check out its album artwork and tracklist below, where you’ll also find upcoming tour dates for both DJ /rupture and Clayton’s Julius Eastman pieces.

French Fries Preps EP for ClekClekBoom

After already announcing the forthcoming Paris Club Music Vol.1 compilation today, Parisian DJ/producer French Fries has shared details of a new solo EP set to drop through his own ClekClekBoom imprint. Entitled Everything, the 12″ brings together three original tunes which are said to showcase French Fries’ use of “bold, futuristic effects and percussive subtleties combined with an astute aptitude for clarity and fullness.” Before the Everything EP drops on March 4, you can check out the artwork and tracklist below.

TM404 “303/303/303/606”

For his next LP, longstanding Stockholm-based producer Andreas Tilliander (a.k.a. TM404, among many other monikers) has traded his glitch-manifesting computer for an enviable amount of vintage Roland sequencers—spreading a couple of MC-202s and 606s, a 707, an 808, and four 303s album wide. “303/303/303/606″—composed of the machines that the title suggests and recorded live in a single take—is a slow-moving acid piece, with subtly introduced textures and layers added throughout its bleak six minutes. The track is part of a larger, self-titled release, where each track differentiates itself with different pairings of various hardware. Though the release of TM404 is right around the corner (coming February 4 via Kontra Musik), you can quench your thirst for more of Tilliander’s analog sounds right now by watching a live production of “303/303/303/303/606,” another track from the album, after the jump (go here for an awe-inducing, high-resolution version).

Peaking Lights’ Aaron Coyes to Release Edits Via Rush Hour

Fitting with his band Peaking Lights‘ (pictured above) penchant for dubby, avant dance music, Aaron Coyes is set to release a 12″ of edits as part of the famously left-field No Label series from APC Edits Vol. 1 follows in the the tradition of strange, experimental No Label releases by Stellar OM Source, Dean Blunt, and Aardvark, you can preview its sounds in the player below.

London deep-house outpost Last Night on Earth has been building an impressive roster over the course of its short existence, with Bubblin’ Up producer Ejeca acting as its new rising star. Admittedly, Ejeca has been making tunes for a while now, but it was only after the stunning “You”, a collaboration with house mainstays Bicep, that his sound truly started to take shape. Here, we have the video for one of Ejeca’s latest productions, “Hi Rollin”, lifted from the recently released Frequency EP. Coasting on a slow burn of strings that fly high above its crisp low-end, the track leaves ample space for the infectious sample work and keyboard flourishes to play around in, especially once its takes off midway through. The visuals for the track, directed by Amir Abassi, reflect the gradually shifting soundscapes of “Hi Rollin'”: Monochromatic reflections give way to full-blown, dizzying color as the piece plays out.

Phaseone Preps New LP, Shares First Single

Already with the solid “It’s Not Forever” under his belt for the year, Brooklyn-based producer Phaseone is gearing for the next, um, phase of 2013, announcing his next LP will soon arrive via Adult Swim sublabel Williams Street. Set to see a release on May 7, the 11-track If I Tell U album is preceded by lead single and opening track “Blood Spirit I.” Phaseone’s latest sees the up-and-coming producer walking sideways from his intricate sampling work, instead focusing on original melodies with a contemporary swagger and lush, downbeat arrangements. Todd Terry Relaunches Legendary NYC House Label

Hugely prolific, legendary NY house DJ/producer Todd Terry is set to relaunch his influential label Freeze in partnership with Dutch record outpost Clone. As part of the collaboration, there will be a series of 12″ releases issued over the coming months, beginning with a reissue from Terry’s Sax moniker, which sports a 2013 re-edit of the massive “Jazz Anthem” tune alongside the original. Around the same time, there will be a re-release of another Terry project, House of Gypsies, featuring the original “Samba,”, an MK dub of the tune, and an additional remix by Louis Vega. There are no firm release dates for any of the Freeze reissues as of yet, but they are both said to be expected during the first week of March. Moiré “Into”

London producer Moiré is set to debut on Actress‘ Werkdiscs imprint next week with the four-track Never Sleep EP. Pulled from the forthcoming record is “Into,” a cerebral piece of beatwork that rides through icey pads, distant vocal samples, and all sorts of hazy textures at a cool, 120-plus bpm. Although it clocks in around a dancefloor-friendly tempo, “Into” isn’t a standard house or techno track by any means, but is more reminscent of a BNJMN-style tune, with an extra dose of Actress-approved weirdness thrown in for good measure. Moiré’s debut effort officially drops on February 4.

French Fries, Bambounou, and More to Feature on New ClekClekBoom Comp

The burgeoning record hub run by Parisian house DJ/producer French Fries, ClekClekBoom, has announced plans to release its first label compilation in early April. The two-disc/double-12″ offering has been aptly dubbed Paris Club Music Vol. 1, and is said to be “split between exclusive new tracksand a summary of the label’s first eight releases.” Among the artists contributing never-before-heard tunes to the compilation’s first disc are Jean Nipon, Manaré, The Town, and the label boss himself, with handpicked selections from the likes of Bambounou and Chaos in the CBD filling out the second disc. The vinyl version of Paris Club Music Vol. 1 will compile only the exclusive tracks onto two 12″s.
