Kush Arora “Humidifier (Club Edit)”

Here, San Francisco’s Kush Arora takes his own track to the next level, editing down “Humidifier” to a dark, Indo-Caribbean bass piece, replete with congas, West Indian percussive elements, and Indian wind sounds. Though some of the original’s watery atmospherics remain, lending the piece even more exotic flair, the edit definitely does its job at pulling the piece into the cavernous, sweaty world of the club. Speaking of which, the third anniversary edition of Arora’s Surya Dub party is coming up May 29 with special guest Poirier, and he’s prepared a funky bashment mix to celebrate, which you can grab here.

Nobody can call Deadboy a slouch given how many mixes the man has out at the moment— not only did he craft a slamming XLR8R Podcast a few weeks back, but he has another brand-new mix out to whet fans’ appetites for the upcoming Hyp! Hyp! Hyp! party at London’s Plan B club. Deadboy will be performing along with Guido, Geeneus, and more at the monthly fete, which is quickly becoming one of the more popular nights in the UK. Video: Chemical Brothers “Swoon”

A this point, the Chemical Brothers have been making music for so long that some of their early hits have reached “I remember this song from junior high” status. Yet the UK duo keeps moving forward, most recently by unveiling this video for “Swoon” in advance of its next album, Further, which hits stores in June. While we’re not exactly bursting with anticipation, the Chems rarely make bad music and the “Swoon” video is a fun little psychedelic dance party for a perfectly pleasant piece of electronic pop.

Video: Schlachthofbronx “Too High”

German bass lovers Schlachthofbronx are clearly fun-loving dudes, so it comes as little surprise that the video for “Too High” finds the guys going ham at a carnival during Oktoberfest while Slush Puppy Kid sing-raps via an iPhone. Between the Playboy bumper cars and a spinning ride called “Techno Power,” it kind of looks like the best time ever. (via Discobelle)

House Shoes “Newports”

For its next installment of the ongoing series of 10″ records dedicated to LA’s ever-growing beat scene, Ireland’s All City label has brought together two Detroit expats who now call the Southern California metropolis home. Half of the release belongs to House Shoes, and one of his two contributions, “Newports,” is quite the head-knocker. As the booming kick and snare makes your speakers rattle, the smooth guitar and vocal samples set up a melodic groove while subtle bass tones rumble underneath. You can cop the rest of House Shoes’ 10″ with Jordan Rockswell when it’s released later this month.

Primary 1 “Princess (MJ Cole Remix)”

Though most have heard his work through remixes from the likes of Joker and L-Vis 1990, the original of “Princess” shows that UK songwriter Primary 1 certainly knows how to craft a pristine electro-pop love song. Utilizing the track’s melodic synth stems that are perfect for a remixer, 2-step legend MJ Cole attacks the original with much aplomb, transforming the synths into punchy, squelchy melodies that ride above a nice garage beat. Primary 1’s vocals are cut up just enough, and breakdowns are in all the right spots. Sharing some sonic similarities with records from Ed Banger and Kitsuné, this remix is sure to get lots of love from a diverse range of DJs this summer. (via FADER).

Sasu Ripatti (a.k.a. Vladislav Delay) Preps Two New Albums Under the Name Sistol

Were the electronic music scene more like Communist China, Sasu Ripatti would have been a political prisoner long ago. The Finnish noise maker has to-date released music under more than three monikers, which include Vladislav Delay, Luomo, and Uusitalo, and we all know how producers treat their projects like growing children. The latest addition to the Ripatti family of stage names is Sistol, a guise that is being resurrected after more than a decade of silence. As Sistol, Ripatti has crafted two new full-length albums, one of older unreleased materials and one of completely brand-new work. The former will see release in August with the latter following in September, and both will come to us via the new sublabel from Phthalo, Halo Cyan. Resident Advisor just interviewed the artist about his revived production name, and posted a few more details on his upcoming releases here.

Chateau Marmont “Monodrama (Gavin Russom Remix)”

Given DFA staple Gavin Russom‘s rap sheet, a remix from the producer clocking in just under seven minutes is more like a quick sketch than a fully formed idea. Still, the shorter format seems to work well for him. Russom gave “Monodrama”—by fellow analog space-disco enthusiasts Chateau Marmont—that special proto touch we’ve come to love from his Black Meteoric Star and The Crystal Ark projects. Wavering staccato synth melodies waft above a simple reverberated drum-machine beat as pulsing bass lurks somewhere in the middle of it all. The original version of “Monodrama” is featured on Chateau Marmont’s forthcoming EP for Institubes, Nibiru. You can also check out the release’s title track here.

Three New EPs Coming From Ed Banger This Month

That hyperactive French electro powerhouse Ed Banger is in full-swing again with a few new EPs coming out in May. We’ll break them down chronologically for you. First up, the UK’s Mickey Moonlight has cued up another offering of his playful, funky dance grooves for the Love Patterns EP. The seven-track release is available May 17, and features five original jams from Mickey himself, along with two remixes from Bot’Ox and Isolée. Following Love Patterns is the collective efforts of DJ Medhi and Riton, known as Carte Blanche. The outfit’s first EP, Black Billionaires, is a five-song claustrophobic mishmash of electro-slanted rave music saddled up with all sorts of distorted wonkiness, and comes out May 30. Underage diva extraordinaire Uffie finishes up Ed Banger’s month of releases with her single for a track she did with superstar producer Pharrell, “A.D.D. S.U.V.” Fans can get ahold of that piece of work, along with remixes from Armand Van Helden and Hudson Mohawke, on May 31. Whew!

Ratatat “Party With Children”

The new single lifted off LP4, the forthcoming fourth album from NY guitar/beat heads Ratatat, doesn’t quite sound like the kind of celebration its title implies. Sure, there’s a party going on, but it’s less with children than with copious amounts of stringed instruments playing an anthemic melody over one of the band’s coolest beats since “Seventeen Years.” “Party With Children” is an upbeat number filled with that trademark guitar sound Ratatat loves so much, along with other familiar sonics from its eclectic repertoire, and headlines the band’s batch of new tracks set for release on June 8.
