Ninos Du Brasi Return with New LP

Ninos Du Brasi have a new LP on the way, titled Vida Eterna.

Ninos Du Brasil is a project whose origins and background have remained shrouded in mystery. Vida Eterna, their third full-length, lands three years after their previous Novos Misterio LP and will be released via Hospital Productions on LP and cassette/ while the digital version is released via La Tempesta International.

The album was inspired by vampirism and was born from the collaboration between the duo Nico Vascellari and Nicolò Fortuni Vascellari with the producer Rocco Rampino.

We’re told to expect a “dense texture of synthetic bases, masterfully and cleverly coupled with the explosive percussive irresistible charge of Ninos Du Brasil.” The album, the label explains, is “conceived as a journey through a dreary, damp jungle, populated by creatures that capture their vital energy from the dark and the night.”

Frazer Campbell ‘Bleeding Gums’ (XLR8R Edit)

Frazer Campbell follows up his recent debut on Steve O’Sullivan‘s hugely influential Mosaic label returns with a new split EP on his own .elliiot.project. imprint featuring Dark Arts head Stu Crosbie.

Having contributed a remix to the label’s previous 12″ by Hemo, Crosbie once again delivers his unique filtered sound of stripped back minimal techno with hints of trippy influences. The flip side presents two tracks of a with Frazer’s own distinct aesthetic: “Bleeding Gums” holds broken beat kicks with rolling drums, while the EP closes with “Deebling Mugs,” full of drive, dirty basslines, and a groove that will keep any dancefloor moving.

A2 S.Crosbie “Human”

B2 Frazer Campbell “Deebling Mugs”

Ryan James Ford Preps New EP

Ryan James Ford is set to release a new EP via SHUT, his own label.

The Canadian native was introduced to electronic music through the ’90s rave and club culture. He began to discover, study, and collect the music he heard at these parties which consisted of a mix of Jungle, UK hardcore, Techno, House, IDM, and ambient.

Although now predominantly a techno DJ and producer, Ryan’s sets and productions are rich with inspiration from his time spent living in Calgary where he had interests not only in electronic music but also in hip-hop, reggae, punk, experimental, and even metal. He began experimenting with production in the early 2000’s but it wasn’t until 2011, with a move to Berlin, that he started investigating his musical capabilities seriously. His productions soon found a home on Marcel Dettmann Records. 2015 saw him make his solo debut on the techno stalwart’s label with an atmospheric and ambient leaning techno EP. The five-tracker easily conveys the rich influence IDM has had on personality and his production style.

This latest four-track release follows last year’s debut on Answer Code Request and sees him return to SHUT, combining “his distinct blend of solid yet delicate techno with pulsating kicks, euphoric chords, and 90’s style breaks.”

Rico Casazza ‘Allegretto Wannabe’

The latest release on Beef Records arrives from Italian musical chameleon Rico Casazza.

Casazza’s latest EP, They Move Fast, follows recent releases on Archipel and Variance with four cuts splattered with raw acid lines and his notorious grooves. Staying true to his ever-changing sonic identity, They Move Fast ranges from more straightforward acid-house grooves (“Minimonsta”) to tripped-out acidic electro (“They Move Fast”). The EP also features warped reworks from Bristol’s Rowka and Bukko Tapes’ HRTL.

In support of the release, Casazza has passed over a bonus cut titled “Allegretto Wannabe” as today’s XLR8R download, available via WeTransfer below.

Premiere: Hear a Relentless Techno Cut From Brothers Black

Next week, Berlin-based duo Brothers Black—the collaborative project between James Sison and Edward Antonio—will kick off their self-titled label with their new four-track EP.

Over the last few years, the Bade Records co-founders have built a solid following via releases on Counter Pulse, voxnox, Safer At Night, and their own Bade, as well as residencies for respected crews such as London’s We Concur, and have become a solid and reliable outpost for unique contemporary techno. Their latest continues this trend with four steel-cut techno weapons built for maximum destruction on the dancefloor.

To give you a taste of what’s to come, Sison and Antonio have offered up a full stream of the EP’s closing cut, “Imagination Barrier,” a relentlessly rolling track that explores the outer reaches of the rave continuum.

You can stream “Imagination Barrier” in full via the player below, with the EP available for pre-order here.

Fernando Costantini Debuts on Partisan as Fern

Fernando Costantini will release a new EP on Partisan as Fern — an alias for his more experimental outings.

The Paradox EP will be the Belgium-born Italian’s first EP and stems from a long-term friendship with label head Anthea.

The three-tracker is said to see Costantini embracing a “fresh, experimental approach that fits perfectly with the Partisan aesthetic.” It will be the label’s fifth release following EPs from Giammarco Orsini, Oshana, and Inner, and an LP from Kashawar.

We’re told to expect an EP that “crafts the kind of adventurous groove that constantly shifts and evolves before your ears.”

Paradox EP is scheduled for September 1 release with clips available below.

Matt Edwards Preps Debut Radio Slave LP

Matt Edwards is soon set to drop his eagerly anticipated debut Radio Slave album, titled Feel The Same.

Easily his most recognizable nom de plume, Radio Slave was initially Matt’s pseudonym for remixes, with early reinterpretations of Kylie Minogue and New Order leading into frequent work for both major and independent labels. He’s now one of house and techno’s most in-demand remixers, whilst original Radio Slave productions have gone on to appear via reputable imprints like Running Back, R&S, Ostgut Ton, Nonplus, and Work Them Records.

Under his various guises, Matt Edwards has continued to demonstrate how musically diverse he is as a producer without any compromise in quality. His REKID moniker features more of his downtempo work with an album release on Soul Jazz, not to mention timeless releases like “Next Stop Chicago” and “Lost Star” which still remain iconic today. The RedHead LP saw the producer demonstrate his ability to collage sounds under The Machine, whilst alongside close friend Joel Martin the Quiet Village project is cinematic and heavily sample-based, exploring evocative and understated soundscapes.

The album is a culmination of years as a DJ, producer, and remixer, with influences spanning a range of genres such as breaks and jungle, acid, Balearic, ambient, dub, Chicago and also vocal samples exemplary of the Radio Slave sound.

Cord Labuhn ‘Towel Game’

Cord Labuhn is back making noise with OUTTAKES, an innovative series of new releases.

Contrary to all things house and techno, OUTTAKES is a series of songs, beats, tracks, sonic fragments, and recordings that reflect his state of mind and consciousness further than only dance music. Based in Berlin, the musician and bold creative diverges from his familiar Robosonic tone to reconnect to his roots and follows a rekindling of his love affair with hip-hop that saw him hit the studio with iconic names such as EPMD, Masta Ace, and The Beatnuts & Greg Nice. Each release explores different themes in keeping with Cord’s sound. Being delivered in a series format, the installments are drip-released weekly as streams, downloads, and evolving playlists.

Up today is Outtake number five, titled “Towel Game,” which is exclusively available to download via the WeTranfer button below.

Belief System is comprised of 23 tracks as were recorded over the last three years utilizing source material from Woolford’s tape archives going back to 1993. Belief System “augments the DNA of the project with a new visceral production aesthetic,” explains the label.

We’re also told to expect “vast layers of atmospherics, unhinged modular work, contact microphone recordings of icebergs cracking, micro tonal elements, and the introduction of stark soundtrack pieces borne out of Woolford’s work in sound design.”
