Vera Plays Decatur Launch in NYC on Saturday

Berlin-based DJ and producer Vera is set to play two US gigs this week.

Tonight, Vera will touch down in San Fransisco for the Housepitality crew, playing alongside SF artists Lilly Ackerman and Birds of Rhythm at F8 1192 Folsom.

Following that, on March 4, Decatur will be hosting their first party in Brooklyn, NYC, focusing on “excellent sound, great music, good vibes, and long sets.” Vera will be supported on the night by Willie Graff and Velasco, two veteran DJs from the Decatur Agency.

Decatur is a new endeavor that will primarily be an agency for NYC resident artists, as well as hosting events featuring agency acts and artists that inspire the crew. The concept behind the platform is to present their take on “the future New York Sound, which has been collectively shaped by all the members of the crew and their different experiences and backgrounds.”

Pantha Du Prince Lines Up Ambient LP and Remixes EP

Hendrik Weber (a.k.a. Pantha Du Prince) will soon release a totally reworked ambient re-envisioning of last year’s The Triad LP, his first studio album in six years.

The Ambient LP sees Weber leave behind “the pulsating beats and most of the vocals of the original,” according to the label, to create “something new, delicate, dreamy, and unutterably gorgeous.”

In addition to Weber’s ambient recreations, a number of artists have contributed remixes of The Triad’s songs to an EP of remixes, which will be released alongside the Ambient Versions LP. The Remixes EP features Solomun, Recondite, Efdemin, Shinedoe, Alva Noto, and more.

Weber describes the concept behind The Triad Ambient Versions:

The Triad Ambient Versions bring the listener into a free space, as music consists of strictly folded sonic spaces that can be structured for the dance, for body-movement: the heart beat synchronizes the movement. The ambient versions have no beats and the listener gets a more transparent musical picture, an image full of light-atmosphere non-defined and free, for the human spirit to unfold its own way of receiving space folded into time. The straight columns of rhythm were taken away for a light wind of silence and non-structured fluid movements.”

Rough Trade will release both The Triad – Ambient Versions and the Remixes EP on June 9. Both releases will be available via all streaming and digital providers, with a limited pressing of the Ambient Versions LP also available. A future 12” series of the Remixes tracks will be available down the line.

In advance of the release, “Islands In The Sky” (Ambient Version) is streamable in full below.

Harvey Sutherland and Bermuda Ready Six-Track EP

Harvey Sutherland will release a new six-track EP with his band, Bermuda.

Sutherland is a studio producer and disco minimalist from Melbourne. He has worked steadily since 2013, releasing a handful of coveted records for People’s Potential Unlimited, MCDE, and Voyage Recordings.

Sharing the name of his breakout 12”, Bermuda is Sutherland’s live band—a futurist outfit comprising Melbourne musicians Graeme Pogson (drums) and Tamil Rogeon (electric strings). The trio interprets Sutherland’s productions with flair and consistency, bringing a unique energy to the club space.

Expecations is an extended player from the outfit and the second release for Sutherland’s own Clarity Recordings, following last year’s label debut single Priestess/Bravado. It features six tracks spanning Harvey’s influences from the West Coast to West End Records.

The EP includes a long-awaited studio version of live favorite “Clarity,” uptempo burner “Coast 2 Coast” and a moment of spiritual introspection with “Spiders.”

Expectations 12” and digital will be released worldwide 24 March 2017, via Clarity Recordings, with clips streamable below.

Sublunar is the new label founded by Dagdrom and Sciahri, the Florence-based DJ-producer producer who has just released his second EP on Ilian Tape.

The first chapter of this trilogy Devotion – part 1 represents the “start of the journey,” says the label,” entering a dimension that is abstract yet solid and physical, full of vividly distinguishable details.” Devotion – Part 2 is the continuum of the journey into Sciahri’s dimension; and the third part is the final stage of this journey.

трип Announces New PTU EP

PTU will release their first solo EP this April.

Alina Izolenta and Kamil Ea have been working together as PTU for a number of years already, joining forces under the name back in the mid-noughties. Their first solo EP will arrive on Nina Kraviz‘s трип next month, made up of eight tracks recorded between ’14 – ’16 in Kazan and Moscow, that were created with only two eight-track samplers. Keen listeners will recognize its title track, “A Broken Clock Is Right Twice A Day,” from the label head’s fabric mix.

Speaking about the Russian pair, the label stated: “They spent their childhood in Siberia and Volga, and their salad days in music schools and early clubs of their respective home cities. Back then accessing the internet was only possible via pre-paid cards that came in envelopes. Music–via pirate CDs and endlessly slow mp3 downloads. Friendships would stem from copying music from hard drive to hard drive.”

Premiere: Hear a New Track from Jack Roland

Amsterdam-based artist Jack Roland‘s latest EP, Dream Technology, will be released by Italian imprint UN.T.O. on March 10.

Following an Italian-artists-only policy in 2016 that included releases from Raw Ambassador, Marcello Napoletano, Antonio, and Sseige, UN.T.O. Records third release of 2017—its sixth in total—will also be its first international offering.

Dream Technology precedes a full-length album from Roland later in the year and presents four deep and gritty cuts aimed squarely at the floor. Although sitting loosely in the realm of techno, Roland’s sound is one that touches on breaks, acid, and electro in a twisted mix of club sounds.

You can pre-order Dream Technology via UN.T.O.’s Bandcamp page, with EP cut “Tech Palms” streaming in full below.
