Call Super and DJ Fett Burger Remix Telephones

Running Back will release two remixes of material from Telephones‘s Vibe Telemetry.

The Norwegian musician’s debut full-length arrived on Gerd Janson‘s Running Back imprint late last year, showcasing a mix of tropical house and balearic sounds. The label is now set to release two new versions of tracks from the album.

Call Super chimes in with a remix of “DTMF,” which is described as a “long skippy dub journey.” On the flip, fellow Norwegian producer DJ Fett Burger offers a new 15-minute version of three album tracks, which apparently covers “almost every style ever invented in the scope of house music.”

Vibe Remixes will drop on March 3. Stream snippets below.

Tracklisting:

01. DTMF (Call Super Remix)
02. U DTMF Party Jungel (DJ Fett Burger’s Understated Moss Phlox Mix)

Hear a New Track from Tommy Vicari Jnr

Today, Illusion Recordings releases its tenth release, a vinyl-only VA titled Connections Vol.1.

Arriving five years after the inception of the label, the compilation will feature some of the label’s favorite established and upcoming artists, including Detroit’s Keith Worthy and Norm Talley, Tommy Vicari Jnr, Janeret, John Shima, Annie Errez, and Bobby O’Donnell.

Connections Vol.1 signals a new direction for the label with all the featured artists signing on to drop solo EPs on Illusion in the next year or two. The tracks on the VA range from trippy house cuts to dubby techno, spacey acid, and warped minimal—a roadmap of sorts that preempts what’s the come from the label in the next few years.

With the release now on the shelves, you can stream Tommy Vicari Jnr’s “YL” in full via the player below.

Cleric Preps New EP; Hear a Track Now

On March 3, Cleric will grow his Clergy imprint with the label’s 7th release, Rules Of Reality.

The four-track EP stays true to Cleric’s signature grooves with “an exercise in fully-focused, highly-distilled techno purity.” Preceded by a collaboration with Dax J on Clergy, an EP on Len Faki’s Figure, and Works Unit, Cleric’s collaborative project with Reflec, Rules of Reality continues the Manchester-based producer’s current hot streak.

Ahead of the March release, you can stream “Unwritten Future” in full via the player below.

Born in Flamez ’50 Down’

Fresh from a number four spot in XLR8R‘s Top 100 Downloads of 2016—a collaborative track alongside Modeselektor called“TBF”Born in Flamez is set to kick off 2017 with Careful You Might Tear The Sound, a two-track effort set to drop on Infinite Machine today.

Careful You Might Tear The Sound will be the 53rd release for Infinite Machine—one of XLR8R‘s favorite labels of 2016—and its first for 2017. As is the case for both the label and Born In Flamez, the EP is as forward-thinking as it is provocative; abrasive textures sit next to soothing synths, alien-like sound design, and haunting atmospheres in a sonic world that both the artist and label have made their trademark.

ORI ‘Black Book’

Ori Alboher (a.k.a. ORI) is a Berlin-based singer, songwriter, and producer.

Growing up in Jerusalem and being a part of the local music scene, ORI was always considered a well-kept secret. His live concerts were rare and only promoted via word of mouth, but led to sold out venues and a growing fan base. In August 2012, he released two albums, one with his then band FOLO called The Secret Message, and also his solo debut Unwind. Shortly after that, ORI decided to move to Berlin, Germany.

“Black Book” is the first single taken from his upcoming album, titled 1986. Like the majority of ORI’s tracks, “Black Book” was created using only a loop-station and ORI’s voice, looping layers of melody and harmony on top of a beat he created.

“Black Book”—the video for which is streamable below—is now available to download via the WeTransfer button below ahead of its February 7 release.

Beatrice Dillon and Kassem Mosse Prepare Collaborative EP

Beatrice Dillon and Kassem Mosse will release a collaborative EP as Dillon Wendel

Pulse / High is not the duo’s first collaborative release: in 2016 Dillon Wendel appeared on a cassette for Kassem Mosse’s Ominira label, titled Index.

The release features two tracks of approximately 17 minutes each, the first of which is streamable below.

Pulse / High is scheduled for February 16 release.

Ramsey ‘Cetacean Stranding’

Inspired by classic Chicago, deep, and French house, Santa Cruz producer Ramsey Williams (a.k.a. RAMSEY) crafts synth-based compositions that look to cement his own rendition of the California sound made famous by pre-Pet Sounds Beach Boys albums.

Williams’ latest single, “Cetacean Stranding,” which is being offered as one of today’s XLR8R downloads, fuses elements of shoegaze and lo-fi electronics with looped vocals and a warm bed of synth lines. Willms has a way with making complex rhythms and textures sound inviting, his music is at once left-field leaning and accessible.
