DEMENT3D Outlines Future Release Plans

Parisian imprint DEMENT3D has two new releases in the works.

First up is Voiski, co-owner of DEMENT3D, who turns in his first solo EP for the label—a four-tracker entitled Marble Sadness. The French producer continues to develop his “post-trance” sound on the EP, as well as drawing on “classic Detroit influences” and “’90s techno.” The productions were inspired by video games of his youth, including lead track “Tin There,” a cover of the Underworld classic, which featured as the theme tune on Wipeout 2097.

The imprint has also announced that ambient duo Ligovskoï will contribute an EP in March. Mana, which will arrive as a double-pack, features reworks by Abdulla Rashim, Peder Mannerfelt, Polar Inertia, and DEMENT3D co-founder HBT (a.k.a. Heartbeat).

Voiski’s Marble Sadness will be released February 13, followed by Ligovskoï’s Mana in March. Stream Voiski’s cover of Underworld hit “Tin There” in full below.

Talaboman Returns with R&S Records LP

Talaboman (a.k.a. John Talabot and Axel Boman) will release a new LP on R&S Records.

It’s been over two years since Talaboman’s Sideral EP arrived on Hivern Discs and Studio Barnhus. It was John Talabot and Axel Boman’s collaborative debut and marked a new sound for the pair, consisting of rich synth motifs and vivid, afro-infused drum programming.

The two electronic artists have been independently successful in their respective careers, responsible for some of the most well-received dance releases in recent years. Featuring on labels such as Permanent Vacation, Young Turks and !K7, Barcelona-based Talabot has become known for his unique take on chugging house and electronica. Similarly, Boman’s refined his own dusky aesthetic via Pampa, Hypercolour and his own Studio Barnhus imprint.

Now, the pair returns with The Night Land. Nothing has really changed since their first release, apart from the fact that this time round they produced (in their own words) an “absurd amount of music.” Writing sessions spread out across studios in Barcelona, Stockholm, and Gothenburg have given space to nascent ideas, where the two have been able to mature their sound.

Tracklisting

01. Midnattssol
02. Safe Changes
03. Samsa
04. Six Million Ways
05. Loser’s Hymn
06. Brutal Chugga-Chugga
07. The Ghosts Hood
08. Dins El Llit

The Night Land is scheduled for March 3 release, with a preview streamable below.

Partisan Welcomes Inner

Inner will release a new three-track EP on Partisan—the Berlin-based label’s second EP.

A familiar name amongst vinyl enthusiasts, Inner (a.k.a. Cristian Ghiban) has been delivering his own minimal brand of house and techno since 2008 on labels such as Neo-strictly to his own Polen.

He now turns to Partisan for the label’s second installation, delivering three floor-minded tracks, ranging from the bouncy funk of “Scandal,” to the broken techno of “Time,” to the shuffling trip of “Dancemine.”

Tracklisting

A1. Scandal
A2. Danceamine
B. Time’

Danceamine EP is scheduled for February 6 release, with snippets streamable below.

Map.ache Presents Perception Shift /A

Jan Barich (a.k.a Map.ache), a longtime resident DJ of Leipzig’s Conne Island and part of the reliably great KANN label and the Manamana DJ duo, will soon present Perception Shift /A, his first release on Altin Village & Mine.

After his lauded 2015 Giegling debut, being remixed by Dixon, and contributing to the Permanent Vacation compilation series, joining the AVM roster is only a seemingly surprising move for Map.ache, considering the label’s long-standing relationship with dance music and previous remixes done by Map.ache for the label’s The Robocop Kraus and PTTRNS.

For Perception Shift /A—which was produced at Barich’s studio in Leipzig and mastered by Josh Bonati in New York City—Barich worked his way through the label’s back catalog and remixed four of its recent releases, namely Skeletons’ “All I Want is You,’ Phoebe Killdeer & The Shift’s “Let’s Talk A Good Story,” Urban Homes’ “Tropical Jam,” and Sven Kacirek’s “Turkey Dance).

Tracklisting:

01. Skeletons “All I Want Is You” (Map.ache Remix)
02. Phoebe Killdeer & The Shift “Let’s Talk A Good Story” (Map.ache Remix)
03. Urban Homes “Tropical Jam” (Map.ache Remix)
04. Sven Kacirek “Turkey Dance” (Map.ache Remix)

Perception Shift /A is scheduled for March 31 release
