Your Gay Thoughts ‘Wet Vexing Rose’ (Brassfoot Remix)

Released on King Deluxe back in February, The Watercolors is the brilliant debut album from experimental act Your Gay Thoughts. Across 11 stunning tracks, Your Gay Thoughts weave together an album filled with warped explorations of jazz, ambient, and beat driven styles. It’s an intoxicating combination of left-field sounds that leave a lasting impression well after listening.

Now, King Deluxe is releasing a remix EP for The Watercolors, featuring reworks and interpretations from Salty Sam, Gang Fatale (Neana & friends), Alphabets Heaven, Brassfoot, TizTiz and Žiga Murko; each providing a wholly unique take on the already absorbing originals.

The Watercolors Remixed will officially drop on November 25 alongside a video for Gang Fatale’s remix. Ahead of that release, you can download Brassfoot’s remix of “Wet Vexing Rose” via WeTransfer below.

Watch a Video on Warping Multiple Tracks in Ableton Live

Following on from his recent tutorial on Convolution Reverb Pro in Ableton‘s Max for Live, Point Blank‘s resident Ableton expert Freddy Frogs turns his attention to multiwarping—essentially a supercharged version of warping that enables multiple tracks of audio to be warped simultaneously. The multiwarping function is a very useful tool that can be used when there’s tempo fluctuations or imperfections in recorded takes or multiple tracks.

You can watch the video in full below, with more on Point Blank’s courses here.

AIAIAI Seeks Funding to Produce Wireless Headphone

Danish audio company AIAIAI has launched a Kickstarter campaign for the H05, a new smart headband for their TMA-2 Modular Headphone System—one of the world’s most extensive modular headphone systems, with more than 1000 possible configurations.

The H05 headband would become the latest part of the TMA-2’s family of modular components, allowing users to simply swap out their existing headband for the new version without changing their current setup.

The HO5 works simply when plugged into any TMA-2 speaker unit, enabling high quality Bluetooth audio transmission. By integrating this technology into the headband only, AIAIAI enable any configuration of the TMA-2 to be wireless, and thereby retain full modularity in the system—giving new users the full freedom to choose, while allowing existing customers to simply upgrade the headband and keep their sound preferences, without having to spend money on a whole new wireless headphone.

In addition to this, the integrated CSR 8675 Bluetooth chip is ready for software implementation, facilitating further future upgrades.

Key information:

Bluetooth 4.2, AptX-HD codec, Op-Amp

USB-C port [key for integration with the iPhone 7 and new Macbook Pro].

16-hour playback time

Two-hour charging time

Omnidirectional microphone, standard power: 2.0V, Frequency range 300~5KHz

Durable EMS TR90 nylon material

USB-C to USB charging/connecting cable

Expected price: $125 / €125.

The goal is to raise kr300,000 (roughly $45,000) in a month with the completed product to be shipped in May 2017, if successful.

A pledge of US$65 will get the first 200 backers the H05 for half price, while the next 1000 backers will need to pledge US$90.

Dream City ‘Hopeful Visions’ (Max McFerren Remix)

The Blankstairs label has announced its newest release, Dream City’s Forward, a collaboration between S. Deelay and C. Perez.

The project marks a focused exchange for the pair, mixing the deep atmospherics of Perez’s Metropol project with the eclecticism of Deelay’s Insane Deelay handle.

Having first met several years prior in Portland, the pair have collaborated on and off for several years, including a 2014 release on Pastel Voids. Since then, the pair have followed their respective paths on opposite sides of the Atlantic, while maintaining a dialogue between their evolving styles and musical vocabularies, one that sees a natural point of convergence on Forward.

The record features four tracks from the project, alongside a deconstructed rework of “Hopeful Visions” by Max McFerren, and an added, digital-only bonus featuring Perez’s Metropol take on “Down 2.” Forward can be pre-ordered via the Blankstairs Bandcamp.

Ahead of the January 10 release, the Max McFerren remix is downloadable via the WeTransfer button below.

A1. Down 2
A2. Palms
A3. Hopeful Visions
