Andrey Pushkarev Continues World Tour

Andrey Pushkarev‘s international tour continues.

Earlier this year, Russian selector Andrey Pushkarev announced that he would be going on his debut world tour after twenty years behind the decks. Having been on the road now since September, he has revealed the addition of a second set of dates. The new locations include stop-offs in Reykjavik, Barcelona, Milan (with Margaret Dygas) amongst others. They supplement a schedule that already included gigs in Lyon (with Varhat), Santa Domingo (with Dana Ruh) and more.

For a taste of what Pushkarev can do, check out the podcast he compiled for us.

Planète ‘Nightcrawler’

Melbourne producer and musician Dion Tartaglione has returned to his Planète moniker after a long hiatus with a new single titled “Nightcrawler,” released via Good Manners. The new cut follows previous single, “Altar,” as well as a string of dates supporting the likes of Machine Drum, Com Truise, Romare, and Pantha Du Prince.

The single also arrives with a visual accompaniment; a collaboration with Melbourne creative collective John Fish. The video explores the self-reflection Tartaglione faced during the writing process, as he explains:

“Within the Nightcrawler video, the theme explored is a narrative of self-reflection, which is a theme that was present throughout writing the track. The identity and perception of this—in an evening setting—is what myself and the team at John Fish are tapping into with this video. It’s internal and introspective, and the video aims at portraying these ideals within a single character format.”

The track itself is being offered as one of today’s XLR8R downloads. Filled with the introspective qualities mentioned above, “Nightcrawler” is a raw seven-minute journey through off-kilter sounds, yearning chords, and swinging percussion.

You can download the cut via WeTransfer below, with the video also streaming in full.

Dig Deeper’s Masha Shares Mix

Dig Deeper co-founder Masha has shared a mix ahead of her performance at Minimal Effort’s Halloween edition this weekend.

In the two years since launching Dig Deeper in LA, Masha and cohort Alison Swing have been responsible for bringing artists such as The Black Madonna, Tom Trago, Max Graef, DJ Sprinkles, and most recently, Daniele Baldelli to the city—with Kornel Kovacs and Seb Wildblood coming up in the next few weeks.

This weekend, Masha will play the Garden stage at Minimal Effort Halloween alongside Tiga (live LA debut), Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Tensnake, and Waze & Odyssey. Premiere: Hear a Track from Slam’s New Album

Tomorrow, Slam will return with their latest album, Machine Cut Noise.

The double vinyl album will be released by the duo’s Soma Records, delving into “the everyday workings of what makes us human; with life, so to speak, running at the very heart of the album.” With the duo’s extensive touring schedule, many of the ideas for the album were sketched and written in airports, hotels, and where ever inspiration hit while on the road. This relates back to the album’s title, a direct reference to the fact that the tracks were birthed from the machines of life and engineered structures in which we live.

Like much of the duo’s back catalog, Machine Cut Noise is an immaculately produced body of work that focuses on evolving atmospheres, haunting soundscapes, and immense low-end thump. The album’s ambient passages set the mood nicely and make way for its more dystopic cuts and club-based grooves to settle in.

Ahead of tomorrow’s release, you can stream “Viginti Quinque” via the player above, with the album available here.

BV ‘Up In The Flesh’

“Up In The Flesh” is the latest single from elusive Sydney-based trio BV (formerly known as Black Vanilla). The trio made up of Marcus, Lavurn (Cassius Select), and Jarred cemented their reputation across Sydney and beyond with their enticing mix of outsider dance music.

The latest single, which will also be a part of their upcoming mixtape, B2V—set to arrive November 14 via Astral People—is abstract electronic at its finest. With nods to acts like Modeselektor, Seekae, PVT, and Soulwax, BV plays muscular live electronics for mutant dancefloors.

BV and Astral People have passed over “Up In The Flesh” to be offered as today’s XLR8R download, available via WeTransfer below.

Hear a New Mix from Tee Mango

Back on September 23, Millionhands founder Tom Mangan dropped Imperfections Vol. 1, his debut LP under the Tee Mango moniker.

Imperfections Vol. 1 follows on from his anonymously released Tribute EP series of
limited-edition numbered vinyl 12”s that were released in batches of 400/500 hand-stamped records. Like the EP series, and keeping in tune with its name, Imperfections Vol. 1 focuses on off-kilter sounds with a bent and raw aesthetic. The music presented by Mangan is “about capturing moments and energy that comes from a fresh idea. It’s about embracing happy accidents.”

A month after the release, Mangan passed over a Tee Mango mix filled with tracks that fall in line with the above-mentioned ethos. Across the 60 minutes, you’ll find a classy selection of raw, jazzy house and spaced out beats.

You can stream Tee Mango’s mix in full via the player below, along with the tracklisting.
