Weekly Selections: Tama Sumo at Discwoman NYC, Job Jobse & Young Marco in Washington DC, Dorisburg Live in LA
Our top weekly event picks from around the globe.
Friday in Brooklyn marks a special event with Discwoman—the rising NYC platform, collective, and booking agency representing and showcasing cis women, trans women and genderqueer talent in electronic music. For this edition the Discwoman crew has locked in Panorama Bar regular and XLR8R Podcast contributor Tama Sumo, who is set to perform alongside Lakuti (this will be their first time ever playing together in New York). Analog Soul will also play, along with Discwoman’s UMFANG. For more information including tickets, click here.
Life & Death contributor Job Jobse & Dekmantel’s Young Marco have both been key figures in the Amsterdam electronic landscape for over a decade, and on Friday they’ll both grace the decks of the highly regarded Flash Club in Washington DC. Navbox and more are also booked to play the club’s rooftop area. For details, click here.
And on Saturday night in Downtown Los Angeles, Dorisburg—better known as one-half of Sweden’s Genius of Time and a key contributor to John Talabot’s Hivern Discs—will touch down for a very special and highly anticipated live set. The JACK event is set to take place in a private loft in the warehouse district, and will also feature DJ sets from Moises of Papaya Playa Project and LA-based Jeniluv. More information and tickets can be found at the event’s Facebook page, and you can get hyped for the party by jamming to Dorisburg’s superb contribution to the Phonica Mix Series.
