L.I.E.S. affiliate Terekke (given name Matt Gardner) has announced that he will return to the Brooklyn outpost this fall with a new EP. The Berlin transplant’s forthcoming effort, Yrlv, follows two previous 12″s for the label, most recently last year’s YYYYYYYYYY, as well as a collaboration with labelmates Steve Summers and Bookworms as Escape Force for Confused House. The four-track Yrlv will reportedly see release via the L.I.E.S. BLK series on September 10, and until then, the EP’s title track—a dusty, vocal house cut—has been made available to stream below.

The title track from Midland‘s upcomingDuster EP can now be heard in full ahead of the record’s release next month. Spanning over six minutes, “Duster” is led by an active dose of synth bass, which leaps just ahead of the beat, twisting around the tune’s dusty shuffle and subtle layers of rich, string-like pads (though the production is not quite as string-heavy as Midland’s recent “Before We Leave” single).

Set to lead off Midland’s forthcoming record for Aus, “Duster” can be streamed below; the full three-track EP lands on September 15.

Having previously released tracks via Hieroglyphic Being’s Mathematics imprint and Los Angeles label 100% Silk, San Francisco-based producer Roche will next land on Icee Hot with his “Depths” b/w “Seers” 12″. The upcoming record is set to see Roche drop off two elongated jaunts into hardware techno, with the a-side clocking in at over 11 minutes, while the b-side lands just short of a 10-minute run. Furthermore, “Depths” is said to take shape as “an enticingly tripped-out journey… full of swirling synths and twisting techno rhythms,” while “Seers” brings the effort “back to Earth with its snapping snares and insistently funky bassline.”

Roche’s next outing will arrive in digital and vinyl form via Icee Hot (a label, we should point out, is co-run by XLR8R editor Shawn Reynaldo) on September 22. Before then, a preview stream for “Depths” b/w “Seers” can be heard below.

Following on the success of the recent second edition of its annual festival, Amsterdam party crew/label Dekmantel will issue two new EPs from Italian duo Mephisto Frequency Oscillator (or simply, MFO) next month. Combining the efforts of Rio Padice and
Massimo Di Lena, MFO’s upcoming EPs for Dekmantel are said to offer “space funk and dirty deep house” across seven separate tracks. Furthermore, the upcoming series will serve as the pair’s debut on the growing Dutch label, having previously released together via the Early Sounds outpost, an Italian imprint Padice and Di Lena co-run alongside Leskin.

Swedish duo The Knife have announced that it will split following the conclusion of its upcoming European tour. As Pitchfork reports, the outfit revealed on its website earlier today that its upcoming fall tour would be “our last,” before going on to confirm in an interview with Dazed that The Knife will break up for good following its handful of reamaining live dates. “When we finish the tour now in November we will close down,” group member Karin Dreijer says in the interview, “We don’t have any obligations to continue.” Furtermore, the band’s PR is said to have also confirmed the impending split.

Time-tested producer, DJ, and electronic innovator Matias Aguayo is set to return to Kompakt with a new EP in October. A longtime affiliate of the label (initially as half of the storied Closer Musik production duo), Aguayo has recently remained focused on his Cómeme label, last year delivering his eccentric The Visitor LP via the outpost. On his upcoming Legende EP for Kompakt, the Berlin-based artist will present four new dancefloor tracks based in lush, almost dreamy synth work, a slight detour from the percussive textures and vocal-heavy arrangements which have marked much of his output in recent years.

“Legends are memories,” the artist says of the concept behind the EP, “but memories of a glorified past, that becomes legendary only in our mind, not necessarily in reality.” Aguayo’s Legende EP will see its official release on October 6. In the meantime, the artwork and tracklist for the veteran artist’s upcoming effort can be seen below.

Pioneering Chicago DJ/producer Jamal Moss (a.k.a. Hieroglyphic Being) has announced he will to return to Planet Mu this fall with a new album. Comprising of nine remastered tracks from the Mathematics founder’s vast back catalog, The Seer of Cosmic Visions LP will appear under the new moniker Hieroglyphic Being and the Configurative or Modular Me Trio, and is said to offer “psychedelic blowouts,” “relaxing gaseous drones,” and “woozy tribal funk.”

Slated for release on October 7, the album follows Moss’ appearance on the label last year as Interplanetary Prophets, his collaborative project with Daniel Martin-McCormack (a.k.a. Ital). No audio previews are available as of yet, but the tracklist and artwork for The Seer of Cosmic Visions have been included below. After its tracklist was discovered earlier this week, Warp has officially confirmed the details of Aphex Twin‘s upcoming Syro LP, which will see its release next month. The electronic pioneer’s 13-track album—his first as Aphex Twin since 2001—will be available on triple-vinyl, CD, and digital formats beginning September 23. The record’s artwork is not the photo above (which is said to simply be a “photo of Richard D. James”) but instead, a mostly text-based graphic created by The Designers Republic.

Audio previews are still yet to surface for the record, but in meantime Syro‘s artwork and confirmed tracklist have been included below. Furthermore, the details of Aphex Twin’s upcoming LP arrived alongside a longwinded and rather creative biography for the artist; those interested in reading it can do so via Warp’s website, here.
