Sunny Graves—the latest project from Barcelona producer Simon Williams—has passed along an intricate slice of lacquered sonics titled “Drawing Hands in Soft Light.” Lifted from his forthcoming Bayou EP—which will be released via the Disboot label in July—the spiraling track fluidly sutures ascending synth arpeggios with swelling low-end. Rattling percussion, gaseous vocals, and organic samples are then added to the mix, making for a densely packed five-minute tune.
Hotly tipped Berlin-based DJ/producer Henning Baer has disclosed details for a small, three-date North American tour this summer. Arriving in Montreal on July 4, it will be the first time the rising artist has made the trip stateside, which also finds him billed alongside Ostgut Ton affiliate Marcel Fengler for an event in LA. Regularly seen behind the decks at Berghain, Baer’s Grounded Theory parties have built a formidable reputation among techno fans in Berlin, most recently playing host to the likes of Blawan, Anthony Parasole, and Shifted. As well as being an accomplished selector, he has issued a slew of singles for both Adam X’s Sonic Groove label and K209, the imprint he co-runs with Milton Bradley. With the Montreal edition of MUTEK’s EM15 festival now just a few weeks behind us (our full review of which can be read here), the initial line-up for its next effort, the MUTEK.MX festival (set to take place this fall in Mexico City), has arrived. Among the names confirmed for the October event are electronic heavyweights such as Jon Hopkins, Oneohtrix Point Never (pictured above), Andy Stott, Daniel Avery, Ben Frost, Kangding Ray, Max Cooper, and Axel Boman. In addition to a handful of other names announced today, Pantha Du Prince and the Bell Laboratory ensemble are also included on the bill, set to bring their ambitious live set to the 2014 edition of MUTEK.MX.

This week saw London producer Sully drop Blue, a double-pack of jungle-indebted cuts, via Blackdown‘s Keysound label. Born Jack Stevens, the boundary-pushing producer has now shared a glitched-out video for the EP’s title track. Directed by Michael James Lewis, the high energy in this piece does not come from movement within the frame, but rather, from a rapid montage of jump cuts that feature simple shots of architecture in sepia tones. The sterile and hyperactive demeanor of the film serves as an appropriate counterpart to Sully’s finely detailed production. The full clip for “Blue” can be watched below.
With UK producer Luke Abbott‘s sophomore LP, Wysing Forest, set to see a release via James Holden’s Border Community label next week, a new video has surfaced in which the modular synth specialist takes on the challenge of putting together a track in just 10 minutes.
Appearing as part of FACT TV‘s ongoing Against the Clock video series—which has featured the likes of Addison Groove, Ikonika, and Tom Demac in the past—Abbott relies on his skills as a modular expert throughout the clip, connecting cables and twisting an array of knobs to swiftly craft a piece of synth-flushed techno. At the end of the 10-minute challenge, Abbott then talks us through the gear utizlied during the course of the track, giving extra insight into the man’s production process. Previously operating under the Orquesta moniker, Brooklyn-based Orlando Volcano has this week released his first EP under his new name. Titled Nice to Meet You, the EP closes with “I’ll Always Be Like This,” a meandering ambient track composed of sun-drenched harmonies that wash in and out of focus while an undercurrent of analog noise periodically crackles at the surface. In addition to “I’ll Always Be Like This,” the entirety of Orlando Volcano’s Nice to Meet You EP can be streamed after the jump and downloaded for free here.

After unveiling a string of teaser tracks (as well as twoparts of a video trilogy) over the past few months in anticipation of his upcoming “What is This Heart?” LP, Chicago R&B craftsman Tom Krell (a.k.a. How to Dress Well) has now made his forthcoming full-length available to stream in its entirety. With the official release date a mere five days away (June 23, to be exact), Krell has posted a stream of all 12 tracks from his third official LP, which will see an official release via Domino’s Weird World imprint as a CD and limited-edition deluxe LP package (complete with 180g vinyl, 28-page booklet, and a one-sided, etched 10″ with two non-album tracks). Gerd is set to revive his NY Stomp alias for a new EP on his own 4Lux label. I Feel It Coming On is the veteran DJ/producer’s second outing under the house-leaning moniker, which he baptized back in 2012 with his Can You Feel It? EP for Illusion. This new effort finds the Dutch artist playing off classic ’90s New York-style house, and features Matthew Kirkwood, with Ovis on title track remix duties. I Feel It Coming On is due out in August; its artwork is shown above and a tracklist for the upcoming record has been posted below.

Longstanding Seattle producer, Lusine (a.k.a. Jeff McIlwain), will return to the venerable Ghostly imprint with the forthcoming Arterial EP. Before its release on August 5, the dynamic producer has shared the record’s driving title track, which sees McIlwain employ a relaxed beat and airy electronics, which are joined by hovering low-end and propelling synth stabs. The four-track effort will mark McIlwain’s fourth EP for the label, which has been described by the artist himself as his latest pursuit to find “beauty in strange places” and “warmth under the surface. “Clocking in at 20 minutes, Arterial will be released as a 10” vinyl and the usual digital formats. “Arterial” can be streamed in full via the player below, where the complete tracklist for Lusine’s upcoming EP is also included.

On his remix of Moist Ghost‘s “Call Me Up,” New Jersey beatmaker Jaw Jam starts with a sputtering half-time bounce, which he drowns out with dubbed vocal washes and lethargic synths. Quickly though, the remix takes a turn—glowing chords float up from the bottom as tuned percussion begins to fill in the beat. Cycling back and forth between these two palettes, Jaw Jam cleverly finds a way to string it all together, making for an alluring—if uncoventional—take on “”Call Me Up,” the a-side to Moist Ghost’s split 7″ with former XLR8Rpodcast contributor The Range. Out June 30 via Lockah’s Tuff Wax label, the full “Call Me Up” b/w “Over You” record can be streamed after the jump.
