Grenier Meets Archie Pelago, the appropriately titled collaborative LP from prolific Brooklyn three-piece Archie Pelago and Los Angeles-based instrumentalist/producer/DJ Grenier, is now available to stream in full via XLR8R.

Out today via Melodic, this ambitious album finds the four artists pooling all their instrumental talents and production capabilities together. As a result, Grenier Meets Archie Pelago is a careful blend of organic and mechanical sounds—a meticulously crafted and lush batch of mindfully detailed tracks. Voluminous orchestral strings and manipulated saxaphone layers are meshed together with computerized drum sounds and glistening synths, creating bold compositions that balance brainy dance music with the warmth of analog instrumentation. West Coast DJ/producer and co-head of the burgeoning Soo Wavey imprint (which he runs alongside recent Spectral Sound signee Matrixxman), Vin Sol has delivered a new mix just in time for the weekend. The set comes courtesy of I-D and appears a few weeks before Vin Sol’s four-track Western Ways EP is set to arrive (the lead single from which is available to stream here). Going in for just over an hour and utilizing tracks from the likes of Galcher Lustwerk, Beau Wanzner, Mr. G, and Greg Beato, Vin Sol’s new mix can be streamed in full below, where its complete tracklist has also been included.

Having previewed his forthcoming Forever EP for Lobster Theremin last month, rising Berlin producer Palms Trax now follows up that news with a new video for the EP’s titular track. Spanning just over five minutes, the clip prominently features an array of vintage footage, with handheld camera cuts of beachgoers along a coastal strip overlaid with mesmerizing shots of ’80s-era surfers riding waves and the blurry outline of a strange musical/dance performance. All the while, Palms Trax’s acid synth-soaked jam breezes along throughout the course of the nostalgic video piece.

Taking place in Foligno, Italy this summer, the Dancity Festival has revealed the bulk of its line-up. Now in its ninth year, the three-day festival is set to include performances by Caribou (pictured above), Helena Huff, Jessy Lanza, Omar Souleyman, Bambounou, the five-piece Theo Parrish live band (which includes Parrish and Amp Fiddler on keys), and a Hessle Audio showcase featuring Ben UFO, Pearson Sound, and Pangaea. Before the full Dancity Festival gets underway (running from June 26 to the 28), the Italian crew has also thrown together a pre-festival showcase featuring Brainfeeder mainstays Flying Lotus and Thundercat, which will take place in the Italian city of Spoleto on May 30.

The Analogue Cops‘ (a.k.a. Lucretio and Marieu) are set to return to Hypercolour’s Hype LTD outpost with the forthcoming Hot Brass Dance EP. According to the record’s press release, the pair’s follow-up to last year’s In Plain Clothes EP finds “Lucretio taking up the a-side honors,” while “Marieu takes up the mantle” on the EP’s flip. The record boasts a notable difference for each side, with the front being said to marry elements of “crusty and crunchy drum beats and a ‘hands in the air’ piano/vox,” whereas the b-side approaches a more acid-touched angle inspired by “Dance Mania releases of the ’90s.” With no set release date as of yet, the dynamic Hot Brass Dance EP will hopefully drop sooner rather than later, but until then, the record’s tracklist and art are available to browse below.
