Since appearing as a collaborator on Bicep’s You/Don’t EP in 2012, Irish producer Ejeca has kept busy maintaing a consistently active release schedule (not to mention dropping am XLR8Rpodcast back in 2013). Now, the artist born Garry McCartney has announced plans to launch his own imprint, Exploris, for which the label head himself will deliver the inaugural release in July.

The upcoming Nebula EP is said to find Ejeca presenting a trio of “harder hitting” productions, with McCartney focusing his efforts on sharp, synth-fueled techno. As a teaser, the producer and soon-to-be label head has sent along a stream of b-side EP cut “Skitter,” which utilizes synth FX and a precise bass sequence to compliment the effort’s muscular rhythmic components. Ejeca’s new track can be streamed in full below, where the Nebula EP’s full tracklist has also been included; Exploris’ inaugural release is expected to arrive in mid July.

More than a year has passed since Flying Lotus released his most recent album, Until the Quiet Comes, so the appearance of a new video for LP cut “Phantasm” comes as something of a surprise. That said, the piece certainly looks nice. Shot in New Zealand by Markus Hofko (a.k.a. The Bow), the clip pairs FlyLo’s loungey, soul-flecked tune with a hazy, rock-strewn landscape and a pair of unusual characters. One is a light-based figure that intermittently wraps its luminescence, mummy-style, in black fabric, and the other is something like a human-sized tribble. In true Flying Lotus fashion, it’s certainly “out there,” yet there’s something tender about these two beings and their journey across the desert. Watch the “Phantasm” video below.

After dropping last year’s Got Me So EP via Rinse, xxxy will return to the label with the “Never Enough” 12″, due out next month. The upcoming effort is said to find the consistently impressive UK producer and regular Rinse jock diving further into “melody-soaked, floor-ready house” across the record’s two offerings—a description that certainly rings true for the single’s titular track, streaming below. Clocking in at just under seven minutes, “Never Enough” is a crisp, pop-leaning production, one which is led by a charging, slowly tweaked bassline and held together by an expertly crafted procession of drums. True to form, xxxy even manages to land on a dreamy breakdown halfway through the tune.

The “Never Enough” single—which comes backed by another original track titled “No More”—will see an official release on June 9. In the meantime, xxxy’s latest production can be streamed in full below.

Following releases for Turbo and Aus last year, Sei A has had a quiet 2014 so far. From the sound of this new mix from the London-based DJ/producer, it’s clear that Sei A has stayed active between releases. Spanning just under an hour, the broad mix expertly navigates through the brighter ends of soul-streaked house, incorporating tracks from Redshape, Matt Karmil, Alex Smoke, Vin Sol, and more in its run. Simply a collection meant to document the tunes currently boding well in the accomplished selector’s arsenal, Sei A’s mix can be streamed and downloaded below, where the set’s complete tracklist has also been included.

After announcing the imminent release of his upcoming RS 1403 EP for R&S back in March, Glaswegian producer Alex Smoke (a.k.a. Alexander Menzies) has teased the first piece of audio with a stream of EP opener “Green Man.” The textured production is said to follow in the footsteps of last year’s Dust 12”, and finds Menzies piecing together a complex drum shuffle which he braids with multiple layers of vocoded murmurs and restless synths. “Green Man” can be streamed in full via the player below before RS 1403 sees its official release on May 20.

In support of his ambitious debut LP Black Light Spiral (which dropped back in February), UK producer and Hemlock boss Untold has revealed upcoming live and DJ dates around the US and South America for the month of May. Taking his live set around the States, Untold will first touch down at Boston’s Together Festival before moving on to New York and eventually landing on the West Coast, where he will perform at Los Angeles’ famed Low End Theory night. In between, the artist born Jack Dunning will head down to Brazil and Chile for a trio of DJ gigs in South America. While the music of Matrixxman (a.k.a. Charles McCloud Duff) was initially known for its shape-shifting ways and the producer’s seeming comfort with a wide variety of musical styles, the San Francisco artist has spent the past year or so settling firmly into the worlds of house and techno. Starting with last year’s The XX Files EP, he’s been on something of a hot streak, and apparently, Ghostly imprint Spectral Sound has taken notice, as the label has signed up the fast-rising producer for an upcoming release. Scheduled to drop on June 9, the four-track Amulet, which was reportedly created using several pieces of vintage Roland gear, is said to find Matrixxman fluctuating between “bouncing house rhythms and hypnotic techno.” A stream of the EP’s lead cut, “Venetian Mask,” has been made available online. It can be heard in the player below, where we’ve also posted the complete Amulet tracklist.

Following last year’s Preparations EP for the label, New Zealand producer Fis will return to Tri Angle later this month with the Iterations EP. Highlighted as an Artist to Watch during our Bubblin’ Up Week earlier this year, Fis’ upcoming effort will offer four new productions which appear set on continuing to occupy largely genreless electronic territory with an emphasis on powerfully detailed sound design.

Before Fis’ Iterations EP lands next week (May 13 to be exact, though the UK and Europe will not see a vinyl release until May 27), the vividly textured “Womb Dreams” can be streamed in full below, where we’ve also included the record’s complete tracklist.
