Last week, Night Slugs co-founder Bok Bok (a.k.a. Alex Sushon) and rising R&B singer Kelela formally announced that their next collaborative single, “Melba’s Call,” would drop on March 31, and have followed up that announcement with a brand-new video for the forward-thinking song. With art direction by Sushon himself and production by Nic Hamilton, the piece features a lo-fi hologram of Kelela projected between two speakers inside a remarkable studio space, with a sizeable glass tower and lush garden filling out the background. As Bok Bok’s mechanically funky track stutters onward, laced with feathery vocals, flashes of stark lighting mirror its beat. The clip for “Melba’s Call” eventually ventures out into the rest of the space, showing something like an abandoned bachelor pad that could only exist in a dream.

A producer and DJ synonymous with the golden age of NYC house, Todd Terry will release two new tracks via the Clone Royal Oak label next month. The forthcoming 12″ will incorporate special, unreleased edits of “Tonite” and “Rock That”—two funky and sample-heavy cuts Terry dropped via his own InHouse label last year. The refreshed “Tee’s Clone Edit” versions of the tracks can be previewed below before Terry’s “Tonite” b/w “Rock That” 12″ arrives on April 28.

As it turns out, Brian DeGraw isn’t the only Gang Gang Dance alumni to turn to electronic music for their solo work; fellow New York artist and Gang Gang Dance co-founder Tim DeWit has been producing inventive sounds under his Dutch E Germ moniker for over four years now. And though he has previously worked on film soundtracks, scored fashion shows, and collaborated with the likes of Arca, DeWit’s largest release to date has only just dropped today, an 11-track mixtape for UNO called IN.RAK.DUST. Available now to stream and download in full, Dutch E Germ’s new offering is an exercise in impossible soundscapes, hyperreal sound design, and next-level beat work. In support of last year’s The Light Fantastic LP, Amsterdam house maven Tom Trago will embark on a six-week North American tour beginning tomorrow. Stretching through most of March and April, Trago’s stint through the US ad Canada will find the man throwing down DJ sets on both coasts, including two stops at SXSW next week and four separate appearances in Miami. Venerable independent online music store Bleep has announced it will be commemorating its 10th anniversary with a 14-track compilation featuring all brand-new music by principal artists from a number of labels the retailer has worked with throughout the past decade—including Autechre, Oneohtrix Point Never, Fuck Buttons, Machinedrum, Modeselektor, Gas, Untold, Shackleton, Lone, Byetone, Nosaj Thing, Nathan Fake, ?-Ziq, and Dabrye. Appropriately titled Bleep:10, the release is set to arrive as CD and double-LP packages (complete with digital downloads) on May 5, but until then, Bleep has organized a number of events showcasing a number of artists featured on Bleep:10, which will take place in New York, London, and Los Angeles in late April. Additionally, a special takeover of NTS Radio is scheduled for May 5, featuring appearances by Lone, Nathan Fake, and Wesley Matsell.

Since 2006, the Permanent Vacation label has issued a steady stream of fun-loving house music, much of it colored by disco and/or hints of Balearic influence. Throughout it all, the Munich-based label has also managed to maintain a healthy sense of humor, and that jovial spirit certainly appears to be intact on the label’s forthcoming compilation, If This Is House, I Want My Money Back III. Continuing the playfully named series that debuted in 2009 and offered a sequel in 2011, this latest collection includes exclusive offerings from recent XLR8R podcast contributor Axel Boman (pictured above), Mano Le Tough, Locked Groove, Octo Octa, Willie Burns, and several others. Not much is known about Gesloten Cirkel, but the Moscow-based producer has quietly delivered a small arsenal of top-shelf techno cuts in recent years, both via his releases on labels like Murder Capital and Berceuse Heroique and remixes for artists like Conforce and Mark du Mosch. Admittedly, many of these efforts—particularly Gesolten Cirkel’s originals—have been hard to track down, but he’ll soon be making a more significant statement, in the form of his first full-length. As reported by Resident Advisor and Juno Plus, the 10-track LP is called Submit X, and finds Cirkel returning to the Murder Capital imprint. The record will be officially released on April 21, but clips can be heard now at Clone. The Submit X artwork and tracklist have been posted below.

With Record Store Day creeping around the corner on April 19, artists in every corner of the musical landscape are announcing the special items they’ll be offering exclusively through brick-and-mortar shops. We’ve already found out about The Field’s landmark debut LP being reissued on the annual occasion, and the latest announcement to perk up our ears is a 12″ that will arrive from Warp experimentalist Oneohtrix Point Never. The three-track record is called Commissions I, and, as its title implies, is a collection of works that Brooklyn producer Daniel Lopatin was commissioned to do over the years for artwork, performance, and film, including a cover of pop song “I Only Have Eyes for You.”

Available on April 19, OPN’s new 12″ will be packaged in a black foil-print jacket with a die-cut view of its inner sleeve, and will be followed by a lengthy world tour with stops in Japan, North America, Europe, the UK, and more dates to be added. The details of that string of performances can be found below, where the tracklist and information for Commissions I can be found along with a stream of opening cut “Music For Steamed Rocks.”
