After he announced his Shrubby EP earlier this month, Gerry Read has just unveiled a full stream of the forthcoming record’s title track ahead of its release next month. The bouncy, four-minute “Shrubby” finds Read staying true to his penchant for loose percussion and swinging grooves, topping off the tune’s dusty shuffle with flashes of buzzy chords and one of the UK producer’s most infectious basslines to date. Following up last year’s Fizz EP for Liberation Technologies, London-based DJ/producer Powell is currently making his way through a seven-date US tour in support of his upcoming Club Music EP, set for release in early April through his own Diagonal imprint. Having started his first stint through the States in Seattle, Powell will make his way down the West Coast before hitting parts of the Midwest and East Coast, accompanied by a variety of producers—including the likes of Tadd Mullinix’s Charles Manier alias, Beau Wanzer, Acteurs, Traxx, and Torn Hawk.

Not long after he delivered a brand-new EP via fledging digital label TAR, Teklife affiliate DJ Earl (pictured above) has been enlisted to remix the lead single from Machinedrum‘s recent Vapor City LP, the XLR8R Pick’d “Eyesdontlie.” Already a tune with its share of juke-referencing undertones, DJ Earl injects a good deal of his own Chicago-bred production techniques into “Eyesdontlie,” sharpening the corners and unapologetically chopping the shit out of Machinedrum’s original track. Hotflush boss Paul Rose (a.k.a. Scuba) has revealed plans to launch a new EP series, sharing a substantial clip of a new production which is set to be appear on the lead effort of the forthcoming three-part collection. The tough, driving “Cyanide” serves as the first taste of Scuba’s Phenix series, the only available information for which is that the records will see a release “over the next few months,” with the first part dropping on March 24. While we wait for more details to arrive, “Cyanide” can be previewed below.

Night Slugs co-founder Bok Bok has announced that he’s set to continue his string of collaborations with LA-based R&B singer and Fade to Mind affiliate Kelela (pictured above) with a brand-new single set to drop at the end of next month, and is sharing a full stream of the new track ahead of its release. “Melba’s Call” is an overtly funky and forward-thinking tune with subtly nostalgic flourishes, one which relies largely on Kelela’s airy vocalizations to connect the stuttering pieces of its fragmented groove. Bok Bok’s and Kelela’s new collaborative tune can be streamed in full below, before it drops on March 31 via Night Slugs.

Innovative UK indie outfit Wild Beasts released its latest album, Present Tense, just this past Monday via Domino, and the band is now capping off the week by giving away a brand-new remix of the record’s lead single by Swedish ambient-techno specialist The Field. The DJ/producer born Axel Wilner, who just announced that his outstanding debut LP from 2007 will soon be re-released for the first time on vinyl, transforms Wild Beasts’ “Wanderlust” into something almost entirely devoid of its original characteristics; any similarities are basically imperceptible. What we end up with is gracefully pulsing example of what The Field does best: harnessing minuscule moments of audio to build engrossing, larger-than-life productions. “Wanderlust (The Field Remix)” can be streamed and downloaded for free via the player below. It has been nearly six years since Austrian ambient artist Christian Fennesz released his last solo studio album Black Sea, and now, following a string of remixes, one-off tracks, and collaborations, the veteran producer has unveiled the details of his next LP. Bécs is set to arrive on April 28 via Editions Mego, and is said to be the “conceptual follow up” to Fennesz’s seminal Endless Summer LP, marking his return to “florid pop mechanisms” after Black Sea‘s drone-focused material.
