True Love will also be released as an EP on vinyl and will include three of their previous singles “Touch,” “Already Dead,” and “All This Time.”

Ahead of the EP’s release, a Pheek remix of the title track is available for download via the WeTransfer button below.

Download a Heavy Techno Mix from UVB

UVB is the pseudonym of the French DJ and producer Sébastien Michel.

Having unearthed a love for music during his childhood, he began focusing on the electronic genre in 2009, when first decided to start producing. 2014 then brought his breakthrough releasing his first EP on the Rotterdam-based label MORD, followed by the double-pack Second Life which saw support from some of the biggest names in the techno scene.

The year 2015 marked an important progress on both DJ and production sides. He decided to dedicate himself full time to DJing and production, touring through Europe, Asia, and South America, while playing in some of the world’s finest techno institutions, including Berghain, Factory 010, and Concrete. Meanwhile, he continued producing and released another more EP on Fracture soon followed by his first LP Life on MORD at the end of the year.

In 2016, UVB launched his own imprint, Body Theory, where he has released three EPs to date and also made an appearance on a cassette release under his new alias Elements of Joy, showcasing his taste for industrial/wave music.

Today, he shares a studio mix exclusively for XLR8R which is available for download below ahead of his performance at this year’s Exit Festival.

When and where was the mix recorded?

In my studio over the past week

Could you tell us about the idea behind it?

The idea was to showcase tracks I’ve been enjoying playing lately.

How did you choose the records in it?

I tried to diversify the selection within my taste’s boundaries, so anything that could fit in the mix independently from style or genre. But looking back now, I think I was in the mood for mostly techno in this one.

How does the mix compare to one of your club mixes?

It pretty much is how I mix in a club (or I least what I’m aiming at). Always try to inject some of my own stuff (like a kick or anything else) to make the mix more personal.

What have you got planned for 2017?

Keep on touring, also started playing live recently so working on that as well. Besides that; I have some EPs planned on my own label and on other ones.

GHOST303 ‘Mapping A Messiah’

Today, BXR Records released a new EP from multi-disciplinary artist GHOST303, titled Mapping A Messiah.

Launched in 1992 by Gigi D’Agostino, BXR has seen many iterations over the years, morphing and changing from an Italodance label to more techno-driven offerings. Dormant since 2006, BXR was re-launched this year with 6470’s No Mercy EP. The latest EP on BXR, Mapping A Messiah, is GHOST303’s first foray into techno and finds him fusing classic Roland TR-303 acid lines with chunky, club-focused drums.

In support of the EP, BXR and GHOST303 have offered up the EP’s title track as today’s XLR8R download. A perfect introduction to the sounds of the EP and GHOST303, “Mapping A Messiah” is a deep and spacious take on industrial techno fit for the dark recesses of the dancefloor.

You can grab “Mapping A Messiah” via WeTransfer below, with the EP available here.

Premiere: Hear a Deep New Cut From Mallard’s Debut EP

Next month, Rhythm Section will drop the debut EP from Mallard.

Mallard had been front and center at nearly every Rhythm Section event since early 2016 and met and connected with label head Bradley Zero through the dance. The South London-based and multi-instrumentalist is currently studying jazz double-bass at Trinity School of Music, and his deft hand at conjuring enticing grooves is on full display on his debut.

Titled Verte, the EP presents a strong sonic personality, one held together by mature instrumentation and inspired rhythms. From the deeply woven atmospheres of “Surface” to the tripped-out breaks of “Untitled,” Verte is standout debut from a producer to watch in the coming years.

Ahead of the July 21 release, which can be pre-ordered here, you can stream “Surface” via the player below.

Stream the Debut Track From HAAi

London-based DJ and producer HAAi has announced the release of her debut single, “DaDaDa,” out today on her own Coconut Beats label.

HAAi built her name off the back of her eclectic DJ set and a residency at London club Phonox. Her sets are informed by a deep knowledge of African, Turkish, and psychedelic records. These influences are also reflected in her first single, which fuses world music influences—”DaDaDa” was directly influenced by Konnakol, the vocal percussion style of South India—with modern production chops and club-ready beats.

Alongside the track release, HAAi has announced a heavy summer touring schedule, which will include gigs in Ibiza, Lisbon, San Sebastian, and a range of festivals including Sunfall Festival (where she’s rumored to play back to back with The Black Madonna), Lost Village, and Oasis Festival.

Ricardo Villalobos and Max Loderbauer Rework Javiera González’ Collaboration with Tobias Freund

Ricardo Villalobos and Max Loderbauer (a.k.a Vilod) have remixed Javiera González‘ “The Beat Is On,” the second release in her ongoing collaboration with Tobias Freund.

The release marks Chilean singer’s second 12″ with Freund, following on from 2015’s 12″ Meet Me Twice, which came out on Freund’s Non Standard Productions label.

The original cut was recorded between Santiago de Chile and Berlin, with vocals (improvised in one take) by Javiera González, and music by Freund.

On the B-side, Ricardo Villalobos and Max Loderbauer deconstruct Freund’s arrangement, before reshaping and elongating it to fit their “Vilodian” framework.

It will be released on London-based Foom.

Tracklisting:

01. The Beat Is On
02. The Beat Is On (Vilod Version)

The Beat Is On EP is scheduled for July 14 release, with the title track streamable in full below.

Machinedrum Shares New Single

Continuing his reign as the underground’s most consistent and chameleonic musicmaker, Machinedrum has announced the release of his “What Is This” single featuring Rosie Lowe on Ninja Tune.

The track picks up where the Los Angeles producer left off on April’s “U Betta,” melodies programmed with precision and percussion snaking in and out quick enough to give you whiplash — but the exercise is decidedly sleeker with Lowe’s vocals in the mix.

On the track and his collaboration with Rosie Lowe, Machinedrum says:

“Rosie and I originally wrote this tune a few years ago in a London studio. It was originally quite somber and slow moving, a song about learning to trust the ones you love and to let go of jealousy. It also deals with obsession and all the confusing emotions you get when you first fall in love. When I was working on Human Energy, I pulled up the vocals from that session and decided to give them new life. We are so happy to finally share this very special song with the world!”

“What Is This,” like “U Betta,” is part of a string of new tracks to be released in 2017 in the wake of last year’s Human Energy.

“What Is This” feat. Rosie Lowe is out now on Ninja Tune.

Grant Preps Lobster Theremin EP

Grant will release a new EP on Lobster Theremin, titled No Lights.

No Lights will be his first release on the Lobster Theremin main label and follows an incredible sophomore album for sub-label Mörk and a self-released white label.

Refined song-writing, valve warmth, studio air, and dusty edges, Grant’s production style has taken on a life of its own as he’s progressed from early split EPs on The Lauren Bacall to entering the Lobster fray. His influences, also showcased via his Temporary State label, are worn on his sleeve albeit with a unique sonic quality and structured tension and release that is mastered by so few over such a lulling, woozy template of sound.

Tracklisting:

A1. Feeling (Vocal Mix)
A2. Values
B1. The Depth
B2. No Lights
Digital Bonus: Feeling (Dub Mix) ++

No Lights EP is scheduled for July 21 release, with clips streamable below.
