Liars Announce New Album, Share Track

Liars latest album, TFCF (an abbreviation for Theme For Crying Fountain), will drop via Mute on August 25.

TFCF is somewhat of a solo album for Liars; following an amicable parting of ways with founding member and guitarist Aaron Hemphill, Angus Andrew set up shop in a remote part of the bush in his native Australia to “create an album unlike any Liars had attempted before.”

Across 11 tracks, Liars splatter bit and pieces of their sprawling back catalog, from the driven electronics of 2014’s Mess to the art punk of their debut album, They Threw Us All in a Trench and Stuck a Monument on Top.

You can check out the first taste of the album below, along with the tracklisting.

Tom Snares ‘Dynamic Plasma Field’

RINSED is a party based in Brooklyn that has been running for over six years, providing “a place to escape reality via one-night-only pop-up clubs that are built and destroyed in a matter of hours.” Musically, RINSED has featured a diverse list of artists over the years, such as Actress, Anthony Shakir, Bok Bok, Aurora Halal, Jackmaster, and MikeQ, among many others. RINSED also runs a label arm called The Umbrella, launched earlier this month with Lust Fund, a spilt EP from Tom Snares and Ariel Black.

Both artists provide diverse takes on house music across two tracks each, from Snares’ dub-infused “Dynamic Plasma Field” to Black’s wildly inventive “Crypt Walk.” The label states it’s “dedicated to bringing together the familiar and the foreign.,” and on Lust Fund, it does just that in true, gritty NYC style.

In support of the release, you can download Tom Snares’ “Dynamic Plasma Field” via WeTransfer below, with the full release available here.

Branko Preps Enchufada Compilation, Shares Track

Enchufada label head Branko will release a 14-track compilation titled Enchufada Na Zona on July 7.

The compilation is a natural extension of Branko’s NTS radio show of the same name, presenting 14 cuts that shine a light on a host of exciting producers whilst simultaneously eradicating musical borders. Like Branko’s own diverse view of club music, the compilation features a wide-ranging style of cuts from producers such as Lorenzo BITW, Poté, Rastronaut, KKing Kong, Dotorado Pro, Sansai, and Mina, among many others—there is also a wealth of fresh Branko edits thrown in the mix. Branko’s inclusive and celebratory ethos is on display on the release, as he explains:

“Maybe now more than ever, the idea of celebrating connections and diversity feels like the only thing people should be making music about. The tracks I’ve been playing and the artists that have surrounded me on my travels reflect a new perspective on music and life that I wanted to explore in this compilation—I wanted to give my audience access to the music that has shaped the last two years of my journey.”

Terrence Dixon Shares Track From New Album

Detroit producer Terrence Dixon‘s latest outing will be a 21-track album titled 12,000 Miles Of Twilight.

The LP is set to drop on Italian label Out-ER, following on from Orlando Voorn and Juan Atkins’ Frequency vs Atkins – Mind Merge LP, which was released back in March. 12,000 Miles Of Twilight will be Dixon’s fifth studio album and finds the pioneering producer in typically visionary form, with 21 hypnotic tracks that unite styles such as electro, jazz, and sci-fi techno. As with previous album’s such as From The Far Future Pt.212,000 Miles Of Twilight shows Dixon’s inventive style is quite unlike anything out there, a singular sound focused on techno’s future-facing ethos.

Ahead of the July 3 release, you can stream album cut “When At Home” via the player below.

Premiere: Hear an Off-Kilter Techno Cut from Pandreas

For the label’s 10th anniversary celebrations, Huntleys + Palmers continue an impressive run of form on new sub-label, Belters. Following releases from Innershades and Hi & Saberhägen this year, they now introduce another new artist in Pandreas (a.k.a Andreas Kleven Rasmussen).

The young producer hails from Norway’s remote western shores, a country which has earned its reputation as a hotbed for bright, erudite electronic music, from Skatebård to Sotofett. His latest Slam Jam EP is another major step forward for the young producer, blending expansive off-kilter house, techno and disco, it follows his praised debut EP Ras and follow up release Rube.
