Antigone Next Up on Token

Token’s next release is by Antigone.

Having already released on the likes of Concrete and Construct Re-Form, Antigone joined forces with Token in 2015 with the Cantor Dust double-pack and has since released a further EP on the Belgian imprint. The French techno producer is set to return to Kr!z’s label before the year is out: three-tracker Time Enough At Last balances noisy, chaotic techno on the A-side, with some melodic numbers on the flip.

Time Enough At Last will be released December 2. Stream snippets below.

Deadbeat and Pangaea Kick Start New Imprint, Body Of Work

Body of Work’s first release is a collection of tracks by Deadbeat, D5 and Pangaea.

The three-tracker, Themes On A Variation, will hit stores later this month. Off the back of his solo album Qawwali Quatsch, Scott Monteith shifts back to his Deadbeat alias with “Borders of our Hearts.” Hessle Audio co-founder Pangaea contributes “So Long Nocturnal”—a previously unreleased track (which has been floating around since 2006 according to Resident Advisor), it’s the first thing he’s put out since his debut LP earlier this year. Rounding things off is Delsin favorite D5 with “Awakening,” his first new release since 2009.

Themes On A Variation will be released November 25. Pre-order it and stream snippets at Phonica.

Ben Rau ‘Ride Eternal’

On November 16, Berlin producer and Fuse affiliate Ben Rau will kick off his new vinyl-only imprint, Inkal Music, with Don’t You Know, his latest EP.

Over the years, Rau’s stripped-back, groove-led house music has seen him release on, among others, JusGrooveIt, Body Parts, and Fuse London, as well as becoming a resident DJ for Enzo Siragusa’s Fuse parties. Inkal Music is the logical next step for the fast-rising artist and will focus predominately on his own productions.

Don’t You Know features all the Rau hallmarks across its two tracks, namely robust grooves, swinging percussion, dubbed-out synth work, and trippy atmospheres. Both cuts are aimed squarely at the floor and will be welcome additions to the record bags of lovers of stripped-back house.

Not on the release is “Ride Eternal,” a bonus cut being offered as today’s XLR8R download. Like the tracks on Don’t You Know, “Ride Eternal” is a warped dancefloor weapon that is begging for a big soundsystem.

You can download “Ride Eternal” via WeTransfer below, with Don’ You Know available to pre-order via Juno.

Watch a Video on How to Use Convolution Reverb in Max for Live

Ableton‘s Max for Live is a very powerful tool for producers. It offers a huge range of audio devices, synths and plugins—designed by users and companies alike—that can be downloaded from Ableton to fuel new creative ideas and sound design possibilities.

In the first episode of a new series, Point Blank course developer and Ableton certified trainer Freddy Frogs runs through the ins and outs of the Convolution Reverb Pro, a particularly powerful reverb plugin which forms part of the Max for Live Essentials pack.

You can watch the tutorial in full via the player below, with more on Point Blank’s courses here.

The Black Dog Remix 30drop

30drop will release a new EP in December.

The next EP from the anonymous 30drop project will drop this December, two years since it was first conceived. Unusual Extremes is made up of two different versions of the same track—the original version, plus a remix by legendary British techno act The Black Dog. The result is two very different interpretations: a spacy, nuanced cut, plus a “much more oppressive and resolute” remix by The Black Dog.

Unusual Extremes will be available to purchase from December 16, as a limited edition red vinyl.

Cartulis Day Celebrates 7th Anniversary

Cartulis Day is set to celebrate seven years in business.

The London-based events team, which has also taken its party to Berlin, Barcelona and Madrid in recent times, will mark its seventh birthday with a party at East London’s MangleE8. It will take place in two halves: the night-time event, with Onur Özer and Nicolas Lutz, followed by a day-time event at an undisclosed location, featuring Francesco del Garda. Cartulis residents Raphael Carrau, Davy and Unai Trotti will also spin.

For more information and tickets head to the Facebook event.

Studio 338 Rebuild Begins

Studio 338 is getting rebuilt.

London’s Studio 338 was devastated by a fire back in August of this year, which also took the life of staff member Tomas Ceidukas. Only a few weeks after the blaze, the team behind the Greenwich venue affirmed their intention to get it back up and running; now, the first details of the rebuild have emerged. Via a Facebook post yesterday, its organizers explained that the “scaffold has begun to go up,” and noted that it should be back in action by Summer 2017.
