Afriqua ‘Harken’ (Archie Hamilton Remix)

Since its launch last year, vinyl-only label MAYAK has released a handful of world-class, tripped out house and techno from artists such as Anton Kubikov, Denis Kaznacheev, Dilated Pupils, and DoubtingThomas. With a focus on emerging artists and high-quality music, MAYAK is quietly signaling its name as a buy-on-site label.

The latest release lands from exciting newcomer Afriqua, who delivers an intimate and beautifully produced piece of music. On remix duties, Fuse resident Archie Hamilton refits the track to a more functional, club-based framework; although, it’s no less enticing and will surely find its way into many sets upon release.

“Harken” will be released on November 25 via MAYAK, with Archie Hamilton’s remix available as a free download via WeTransfer below.

Franz Kirmann ‘Killswitch / Darknet’

French producer Franz Kirman will release his third album, Elysian Park, tomorrow, October 21 via Denovali.

Elysian Park is the London-based artist’s second for the German imprint, and was born from ‘Hyper Trophies,‘ a 2012 crossover art and fashion project Kirmann soundtracked—created by Berlin art studio Zeitguised—which “consisted of three endless video loops presented in a vertical format, showing unemotional female models floating amongst nocturnal backdrops, evoking ghostly figures in some apocalyptical wastelands.” It’s an album that looks to the future with no boundaries. There’s no traditional structures or destination apparent; the music seems to occupy a humanless world with barely-there melodies and no regular beats to hold on to. It’s music that demands your attention and confronts your preconceptions.

Denovali releases the album officially tomorrow—you can preorder it here—and to give you a taste of what’s to come, the label has offered up LP cut “Killswitch / Darknet” as today’s XLR8R download—available via WeTransfer below.

The Cinematic Orchestra Return with New Single

The Cinematic Orchestra have shared a new single.

“To Believe,” which features vocals from LA-based artist Moses Sumney, is the first single from the group’s forthcoming studio album (their first since 2007), which will drop next year. For the track, original member Jason Swinscoe was joined in the studio by long-time friend and collaborator Dom Smit. According to a press release, the resulting production is an “epic, heart-achingly sad, but beautiful and uplifting piece of music.”

“To Believe” is out now. Purchase the single here.

Radiohead Confirmed to Headline Glastonbury 2017

Radiohead are confirmed to play at Glastonbury 2017.

The legendary English rock band last played a headline slot on the Pyramid Stage back in 2003 (although also made a surprise appearance at the Park Stage in 2011). They are the first act confirmed for next year’s event, topping the bill on Friday, June 23. The announcement, made earlier today, was accompanied by the image below—a painting of the Kid A logo at the festival site.

Radiohead released their ninth studio album earlier this year, A Moon Shaped Pool, their first since 2011’s The King Of Limbs.

Watch Lindstrøm’s New Video, ‘Closing Shot’

Lindstrøm has revealed a new video for his track, “Closing Shot.”

“Closing Shot” is taken from Hans-Peter Lindstrøm’s space-disco-fueled Windings EP, which dropped earlier this year via his own imprint Feedelity. Its video was put together by Oliver Clegg, who stated the following: “I wanted to make something that could stand alone as a piece of work aside from the context of just listening to the music. So whilst the video strives to respect the cosmic nature of the music, there is also a more subtle twist at the end that suggests a wider commentary – something one would never get from just hearing the music without the visuals. It’s simultaneously serious and respectful with hopefully some splashes of humor!“

Windings is out now and can be purchased at Bandcamp.

Premiere: Hear a New Experimental Cut from Know V.A.

Rising Dutch duo Know V.A. will release Zenith via fellow Amsterdam-based label Fog Mountain Records on October 20.

The duo gained recognition on the international scene the last few years via standout support slots at Warp, LuckyMe, and R&S label showcases; not to mention their popular monthly radio show on Red Light Radio. Last year, they stepped up for DJ Shadow’s Liquid Amber imprint, delivering a mind-bending bass cut for the label’s Digital Dubplate series. They’ve also released on Lowriders Recordings and had their work remixed by grime heavyweights Rabit and Plastician.

Their latest EP, Zenith, is without a doubt their most accomplished work yet, a six-track EP of forward-thinking sonics. Tomorrow, the duo will launch the record at Amsterdam’s new venue De School, as part of ADE.

In anticipation of tomorrow’s release, you can stream the EP’s closing cut “Only U” via the player above.

Gauss ‘Numerical Coefficients’ (Unknown Variables Mix)

Gauss is the cultured label and artist duo made up of Los Angeles-based Natan H and Owen Jay from Malta. Together they make techno with an electronic soul, and now they appear back on their self-titled imprint for a fourth EP after earlier outings on their own label and Contrast-Wax.

Today the duo have offered up an unreleased rework of “Numerical Coefficients”—an electro cut taken from their upcoming Numerical Coefficients EP—as one of today’s free downloads, while the EP itself will be available for purchase on October 24.

According to the duo, this version is “much slower with an alternate arrangement” with some parts being “rewritten” to fit the slower tempo.

Tracklisting:

A1: Numerical Coefficients
B1: Curvature
B2: Differential
