Portable Sunsets “Sisters”

“Sisters” is the first cut to surface from Bless, the forthcoming second LP from Brooklyn-based producer Portable Sunsets (artwork above). Having issued his debut LP via Deadelus’ Magical Properties label in 2012, the artist’s sophomore album is set to arrive via the Atomnation imprint, who also released Portable Sunsets’ Rental EP last year. A patiently piano-streaked outing, “Sisters” seems a suitable introduction to the producer’s forthcoming effort, which is said to spend equal time exploring pillowy ambient territory as it does trading in the kind of heady, subtly evolving club music on display here. Portable Sunsets’ “Sisters” production can be downloaded below, where the complete tracklist for his upcoming full-length effort (which will see its official release on March 17) has also been included.

Clark Preps New EP for Warp, Streams Track

Longstanding Warp affiliate Clark will return to the esteemed UK label next month with a new EP. Entitled Flame Rave, the record is said to extend the “majestic explorations” initiated throughout his recent full-length, Clark, and comprises two alternate versions of tracks found on the album and some fresh material.

“I started making these ravey tunes to play out at gigs, but they gathered a momentum and gradually formed this EP,” Clark says . “I came back to it again and again—it seemed to work in clubs but also as a sneaky, immersive headphone listen. I love the feel of an almost overwhelming percussive violence being suddenly flooded with heartache and melody. I find that dynamic exhilarating.”

Will & Held “Atom”

Today Leeds-based producers Will Berridge and Richard Meller (a.k.a. Held) drop their first EP together as Will & Held. Entitled Ours, the four-track record is a vinyl-only affair that includes a remix from Trus’Me and also serves as the inaugural release of the newly launched Spinning Plates imprint. Accompanying the new release is bonus cut “Atom,” a initially jittery production that gradually gathers up a formidable collection of static-laden textures that twist and turn amongst the track’s fast-evolving synth tones and bed of subtly morphing keys. Truss Readies Solo EP for Perc Trax

Truss has revealed that his first solo EP since 2012, Kymin Lea, will see release via Perc Trax this spring. The UK producer (given name Tom Russell) has been sighted in a number of collaborative projects over the past few years, working with Perc and as TR\ER with younger brother Tessela. This latest record is said to move from “sweeping melodic experiments to a new deeper take on his trademark acid sound,” and also kicks off a new series of EPs from the label that has artists work with resident designer Jonny Costello “to create a visual identity for their release that perfectly matches their music.”

Kymin Lea is officially out on April 13 and a preview of the EP’s title track can be heard below, where both its artwork and a complete tracklist have also been included.

George FitzGerald Reveals Upcoming Debut LP; Hear the First Single Now

British-born, now Berlin-based producer/DJ George FitzGerald has revealed the details of his forthcoming debut artist album, Fading Love. A 10-track affair, FitzGerald’s debut LP is said to mark a “new chapter” for the producer as it touches on “the more emotive and tactile spectrum of electronic music, while keeping one foot firmly planted on the dance floor.”

Leading the charge for Fading Love is “Full Circle,” the record’s first single which features the talents of UK vocalist Boxed In. A melancholic endeavor, the track laces its icy skip with pulsing chords and a myriad of melodic touches that sit just beneath Boxed In’s subtle crooning. FitzGerald’s “Full Circle” single can be heard below ahead of his Fading Love LP’s full release on April 28 via Double Six/Domino; the forthcoming record’s complete tracklist and FitzGerald’s upcoming DJ dates have also been included below.

Sónar Adds Squarepusher, Mumdance & Novelist, Xosar, and More to 2015 Line-Up

Adding to a bill that already includes Autechre, Flying Lotus, Arca, FKA Twigs, Roman Flügel, Jamie xx, The Bug, and Vessel, among others, Barcelona’s annual Sónar festival has added a number of new names to its 2015 line-up. Amongst the new additions are Warp stalwart Squarepusher (pictured above), UK grime pair Mumdance & Novelist, the prolific Xosar, Hotflush label head Scuba, and German selector DJ Tennis, all of who will perform through the three days of Sónar festivities beginning on June 18.

Numbers to Reissue Classic DJ Deeon Tracks on Upcoming EP

Raised in Chicago’s Southside, DJ Deeon released a long list of ghetto house classics on the pioneering Dance Mania label over the course of his career, amassing a worldwide following with his raw call-and-response style. To celebrate his legacy, Glasgow’s Numbers label have selected their favorite DJ Deeon cuts for a greatest hits EP, titled Deeon Doez Deeon!. Sourced and remastered from the original DAT tapes, the EP includes slinky vocal jam “2 B Free”, spastic favorite “House-O-Matic”, the erotically charged “Freak Like Me”, and redline drum workout “The 604”. Helena Hauff Details New EP for Werkdiscs; Hear a Track Now

Following a prolific year in 2014 with releases on Panzerkreuz, Solar One Music, PAN, and Lux Rec, Hamburg producer Helena Hauff has already announced her second record of 2015, set to arrive closely behind her recent cassette release for Texas label Handmade Birds.

In 2013, Darren Cunningham’s (a.k.a. Actress) Werkdiscs imprint released Hauff’s first original music, the Action Reactio EP; since then, the Golden Pudel resident has kept remarkably busy with solo singles, her collaborative Black Sites project with F#x, and Peter Weiss’s Hypnobeat show. Now, she will return to Werkdsics with the five-track Lex Tertia EP next month, and has shared a music video for “The First Time He Thought, He Died,” the upcoming record’s closing cut which rides vintage drum machines through a noxious haze. Hauff’s Lex Tertia will drop on March 30; in the meantime, the EP’s closing effort can be streamed/watched below. (via Resident Advisor)

Listen to Lindstrøm’s New Single, “Home Tonight”

Norwegian disco mastermind Lindstrøm has today shared a full stream of “Home Tonight,” a new track which will kick off a forthcoming single series from the artist’s own Feedelity label. A soaring disco affair that stretches across nine minutes, “Home Tonight” is flush with lively percussion, punchy piano chords, and bright arpeggios, while also featuring the vocal efforts of Grace Hall, a Los Angeles-based singer and member of the Skin Town outfit.

Lindstrøm’s and Grace Hall’s “Home Tonight” outing is set to see its official release on April 6, when it will launch an ongoing series of Lindstrøm-produced singles that will land on his Feedelity label throughout 2015. In the meantime, that endeavor’s first offering can be streamed in full below.

Gordon “Bleu Merle”

Earlier this week, the Infiné label dropped the Bleu Merle EP, a four-track collection of electronic constructions from French producer Gordon. Serving as the artist’s debut release for the label—though he is said to have been involved with the inner workings of Infiné since its beginning—the record is led off by its title track, a dense production which has been offered here for free download. Spanning seven minutes, “Bleu Merle” endlessly lurches forward, liberally piling thick layers of buzzing synths, wobbly low-end, and refracted ambient textures to its slightly off-kilter stomp throughout the course of the track’s elongated run.
