With the release of his sophomore full-length for Night Slugs, Dream a Garden, just over a month away, Jam City has shared a full stream of “Proud,” the latest single to surface from the upcoming album. A gooey, funk-streaked production, “Proud” sees the UK artist continuing to move away from the more club-focused efforts of his past records in order to craft hazy pop constructions; with “Proud” as the latest example, the results continue to be hard to argue with. Jam City’s latest single can be streamed below before his full Dream a Garden LP sees its official release via Night Slugs on March 23.

Lobster Theremin Reveals Upcoming EP from Route 8; Preview It Now

After releasing his Dry Thoughts EP for the label early in 2014, Budapest-based producer Route 8 is set to return to the Lobster Theremin fold with the four-track This Raw Feeling EP. Slated to arrive later this month, the “white label” record is said to contain more of the “emotive dreamscape house and heady techno” that the artist’s past releases for the likes of Lobster Theremin, Nous, and Farbwechsel have focused on, while also seeing Route 8 “adding crystalline electro and tool-room clattering house to his emotionally charged sound palette.”

To help give us a better idea of what exactly that all will sound like, Lobster Theremin has shared a preview stream of This Raw Feeling EP’s four efforts, which can be heard below before Route 8’s new record officially lands on February 26.

Stream a New Single from Bok Bok and Sweyn Jupiter

Bok Bok (pictured above) has teamed up with Night Slugs newcomer Sweyn Jupiter on a new single, “Papaya Lipgloss.” The double a-side single is billed as “a song about young love” and shows a somewhat softer side to label co-founder Bok Bok than seen on his 2014 EP, Your Charizmatic Self, with Jupiter’s keyboard work helping set the tone. The single’s “Club Mix” version is said to borrow from the “sweltering rhythms” of tribal house, while “Papaya Lipgloss—Sour Mix” takes the form of “an opulent bedroom jam, complete with quaking kick drums and purring Moog bassline.”

The “Papaya Lipgloss” single is due out in digital and 12″ formats on March 17; for now, Bok Bok’s and Sweyn Jupiter’s “Papaya Lipgloss (Club Mix)” can be streamed in full below.

LTO “Trabajar”

A member of the Old Apparatus production collective, Bristol artist LTO will soon release a new solo EP, No Pasa Nada, which will serve as the debut outing from the Injazero label. Set to close the record is “Trabajar,” an immersive production which makes use of a wide-ranging sonic palette across its four-minute run. Blending various field recordings with bursts of static, industrial percussion hits, layers of strings, and an innumerable collection of other minute sonic elements, it is pleasantly difficult to pinpoint where the acoustic and processed worlds meet in LTO’s production. One of four such efforts slated to appear on the forthcoming No Pasa Nada EP in the coming weeks (the record is said to be “out soon”), “Trabajar” can be downloaded below.

HNNY Details Upcoming EP for Pets, Streams “Yogalates”

Stockholm’s Johan Cederberg (a.k.a. HNNY) has shared a stream of “Yogalates” from his forthcoming Carefree EP before the record drops next week. The highly active Swedish producer has released a slew of 10″s and 12″s for labels like Let’s Play House, Local Talk, and Puss in recent years (not to mention a split on Studio Barnhus), but this latest effort marks his first appearance on Pets, the label headed by Catz ‘n Dogz. Each of the EP’s five tracks are said to fall under the umbrella of off-kilter, colorful house, with closing cut “Yogalates”—available to hear below in an XLR8R premiere—featuring “big xylophones, joyous piano chords, rubbery kicks, and a generally disarming sense of playfulness.”

Carefree arrives on February 23, and the EP’s complete tracklist has also been posted below.

Stream I.A. Bericochea’s New EP for Idle Hands

I.A. Bericochea will likely be a new name to most XLR8R readers; the Spanish producer has a handful of releases in his corner (including an LP for Richie Hawtin’s Minus label), but the artist has remained largely silent on the release front in recent years. Now, I.A. Bericochea has stepped out of the shadows with the Wake Up EP, a four-track effort which serves as his debut for Bristol’s Idle Hands imprint.

On Wake Up, Bericochea’s productions are hard to place. Often they come equipped with the detailed textures and finite percussion common to dub techno, but there is also an unmistakably live element at play here as well, mostly heard in the rounded basslines that sit at the bottom of Bericochea’s compositions beneath interwoven layers of percolating—at times even watery—percussion. Presenting four fearlessly leftfield takes on dance music, the Wake Up EP can be streamed in full below; the record sees its official release this week via Idle Hands.

All We Are “Keep Me Alive (Lxury Remix)”

Following behind the release of its self-titled debut LP via the Domino imprint earlier this month, the All We Are trio have gathered a number of remixes to accompany its recent full-length effort, including this one from London-based producer Lxury. A guitar-laden pop affair in its original form, Lxury transforms “Keep Me Alive” into a rolling club track, stretching the tune’s elements almost beyond recognition while lacing the rework’s sharp, skipping rhythms with a swath of swellings chords and wobbly melodies.

Pixelord Readies Debut Album, Streams Track

Russian producer and former XLR8Rpodcast contributor Alexey Devyanin (a.k.a. Pixelord) will release his debut full-length Places this spring via Moscow-based label Hyperboloid. The album follows from previous 12″ outings on Leisure System, Civil Music, and Infinite Machine, and is said to comprise 10 “groovy bass tracks that are mellow and lush, yet still rhythmically wild.” In keeping with its title, each track on the LP was reportedly inspired by a different city, including the “dry and shaky techno rattle of Berlin, drunk and lavish house vibes of Moscow, and gaudy and vivid drums of Phuket in Thailand.”

Before Places sees an official release on March 31, LP cut “Bodø” can be streamed in full below, where a complete tracklist has also been included.

South London Ordnance Preps New EP, Shares Clips

Techno and UK bass producer South London Ordnance will deliver his first EP of the year, entitled Sex Fortress, via his fledgling Aery Metals imprint this spring. Comprising two original “tough club” cuts, title track “Sex Fortress” is said to pit “re-amped hardware against steely live drums and bursts of noisy, twisted vox,” while on the flip, “‘Photobox’ focuses on groove and atmosphere—saturated 606 hits and pulsing dub chords augment a warped, chrome-plated bassline.” The EP follows from previous outings on Hotflush, 2nd Drop, and Aery Metals (among other labels), and reportedly sets the tone for upcoming SLO material in 2015—including his debut 12″ under his Portrait alias.

Sex Fortress arrives on March 8 in both vinyl and digital formats, and EP clips can be previewed below.

Squarepusher Announces New LP, Shares Free Download

Tom Jenkinson has been releasing records under his Squarepusher moniker for 20 years now, creating an inimitable blend of free jazz, drum & bass, and sound collage that has evolved with each new record. Now, Jenkinson is set to return with his first album since 2012’s Ufabulum LP, Damogen Furies. According to Jenkinson, the forthcoming album will explore “the hallucinatory, the nightmarish, and the brutally visceral capacities of electronic music.” Furthermore, over the last decade Jenkinson has worked to build his own music creation software, and all of the productions on his latest record are said to have been created in one take (without any edits) using that system.

Along with the LP announcement, Jenkinson has also shared a free download of brash album cut “Rayc Fire 2,” which rides a tyrannical rhythm in erratic patterns. That free download is available to grab here (some scrolling is required), while the artwork and tracklist for Squarepusher’s upcoming Damogen Furies LP can be found below before the record drops on April 21 via Warp.
