Marquis Hawkes is poised to release a new EP, which will arrive by way of Fabric offshoot Houndstooth this fall. The anonymous producer came to prominence with a stream of releases for Glasgow’s Dixon Avenue Basement Jams, not to mention additional 12″s for Creme Organization and Clone’s Jack for Daze series. His upcoming debut for Houndstooth, Fifty Fathoms Deep, reportedly finds the XLR8R podcast alum taking in everything from “jazz-inflected deepness, disco flavors, quirky cyberpop through to futuristic funk,” and is due out as a vinyl release on September 29. Clips for all four tracks can be found via the label’s website here, and a full stream of EP cut “Can’t Find a Reason,” in which Hawkes beefs up an R&B single with jacking drums and thick bass stabs, is available to stream below.

Manni Dee is known for his strong-armed sonics released via platforms like Candela Rising and Black Sun, as for his collaboration with Happa as Habits of Hate. The Brighton producer’s latest project, however, is as the curator of a new compilation from London imprint WotNot. According to a press release, the forthcoming Life Between Screens “encourages listeners to engage with music on a visceral level, liberating sound from its potentially functional shackles.” The artists brought together for the collection reportedly find common ground through the medium of noise—from sound artist Shelley Parker to WANDA GROUP and techno producer BNJMN.

Life Between Screens is set to arrive on September 22, accompanied by a cassette issue of six bonus tracks from the likes of Lost Twin and Manni Dee himself (operating under his Nuances alias). The launch party will be held on September 20 in London, but until then, BNJMN’s contribution, “The Unseen,” can be heard in full below, where tracklists for both releases can also be found.

After appearing on Tim Sweeney’s Beats in Space radio show last night, FaltyDL‘s 90-plus-minute session from the broadcast can now be heard in full. The soul-strewn set follows closely behind the release of In the Wild, the producer’s latest full-length effort which dropped earlier this month via Ninja Tune. For his appearance on the weekly WNYU show, the artist born Drew Lustman weaves together a diverse mix of tracks, touching on cuts from Andrés, James Brown, Aphex Twin, Shanghai Den, Doc Daneeka, Lee Gamble, and—of course—a few productions of his own during the course of the mix.

The Numbers label’s “secret weapon,” Redinho, has shared a full stream of “Get You Off My Mind,” the second single from the London artist’s forthcoming debut LP for the imprint. Featuring the vocals of Brendan Reilly, the tune is described by Redinho himself as “a summer jam… [with] a cheeky kind of optimism to it.” Lathered in neon-colored chords, “Get You Off My Mind” is a slick piece of electronic pop, one infused with the sort of funk sensibilities that are likely to be heard throughout Redinho’s upcoming self-titled full-length debut.

Before the Redinho LP sees its release via Glasgow label Numbers on September 23, “Get You Off My Mind” is streaming in full below. In addition, an album sampler video can be seen/heard here.

Time-tested Ann Arbor producer and staple of the Ghostly label, Tadd Mullinix (who operates under a number of aliases including James T Cotton, Dabrye, and Charles Manier) has announced plans to launch an imprint of his own, Bopside, with a forthcoming release from the artist himself under his JTC moniker.

Mullinix has been increasingly active as JTC in recent months, delivering an XLR8R podcast back in May and closing out Patricia’s recent Side Piece EP for Spectral Sound with a remix under the moniker. Now, the prolific artist will present three new tracks as JTC on the forthcoming Escalator to Sorga EP, which will serve as the Bopside label’s inaugural outing. Slated to drop late next month, the EP’s release will also coincide with the upcoming Bopside label launch tour, which will find JTC making his way around Europe throughout September. Though he’s most recently been heard flirting with the more fun-loving ends of disco and house, Skream‘s new effort sees the long-standing producer/DJ delivering a more subdued sound. Titled “Let It Go,” the new production comes in at almost nine minutes long and focuses on a steady, understated shuffle as it begins unraveling a series of delicate melodic sequences. A slow-moving affair, “Let It Go” builds mass as it chugs forward, its low-rumbling bass drones giving way to dense pads, spiraling arpeggios, and—eventually—a rich string section.

Skream’s latest can be streamed in full below. At this point, the UK artist has not indicated whether “Let It Go” will see a proper release somewhere down the line.

Back in June, Grimesshared “Go,” a self-described “summer jam” originally written for Rihanna, but ultimately finished by Grimes and produced with the assistance of Blood Diamonds. Now, the bombastic tune has received a similarly extravagant video treatment.

Co-directed by the leftfield pop songstress and her brother, the clip finds Grimes (and occasionally Blood Diamonds) traversing through a series of sci-fi landscapes. “It’s our take on Dante’s Inferno,” the artist explains in a press release. “The circles of hell reflect more contemporary issues though,” she continues, “We shot a bunch at the Salton Sea, which is basically an apocalyptic wasteland filled with dead fish because of human carelessness, [and we also included] the bullet-hole hallway à la Korn’s ‘Freak on a Leash,’ etc.” The full video for “Go” can be watched below.

New mixes from Border Community label head James Holden (pictured above), hardware aficionado Xosar, and Chicago experimenter Beau Wanzer have surfaced.

First, James Holden has delivered the thrity-plus-minute Synth and Drum Mix for
Dazed, a set the DJ/producer tells the site “isn’t about DJ stuff, it’s about what inspired my live show: the magical combination of SYNTH and DRUM,” going on to explain, “These are not the names of instruments, consider them elemental forces. ORDER and CHAOS.” Holden’s new mix can be streamed below, and its full tracklist can be found here.

Also appearing on Dazed, Xosar (who recently announced an upcoming EP for Valcrond Video) has turned in a recording of a live set/jam captured during a late-night/early-morning house party in Berlin. The hour-long session was said to have been “recorded live in a delirious state at 6:21 AM… in an apartment resembling a dungeon using one broken Electribe, (knobs held in place with paperclip, duct tape, and gum from the dollar store) perched gently atop an ironing board (draped in black velvet to disguise its homely nature).” Xosar’s full set from the party can be heard below.

Lastly, Chicago producer Beau Wanzer (who revealed details of a forthcoming LP earlier this week) has stepped up for the latest installment of Juno Plus‘ ongoing podcast series. Described by the site as “an hour of obscure wave and primitive electronics,” Wanzer’s full mix can be streamed and downloaded below; no tracklist for the set has been shared at this time.

For the latest installment of Resident Advisor’s RA Sessions series, veteran techno producer Alli Wells (a.k.a. Perc) has joined forces with metal vocalist Dan Chandler. Appearing live in RA’s London office, the pair delivers an extended version of “Take Your Body Off,” a performance described as “harsh, relentless, and fueled with raw aggression…not for the faint of heart.” The track was originally released on Perc’s The Power and the Glory LP, which dropped earlier this year via his own Perc Trax imprint, and featured Chandler—a former member of London outfit Dethscalator—as a guest artist.
