A new EP has arrived from DIVA, the alias of Junior Boys member and recent XLR8Rpodcast contributor Matt Didemus. Out today via Adam Marshall’s (another recent contributor to our podcast series) New Kanada label, DIVA’s three-track Omni EP can now be heard in full. Said to be a record “inspired by black hole thermodynamics,” Omni exists on the more dark and gritty ends of dancefloor productions, its efforts placing undulating rhythms beneath layers of active synth work, rich with texture and space.

Serving as DIVA’s second EP for the label—the Paris Stabbing EP debuted the project in late 2012—Didemus’ new record under his DIVA moniker can be streamed in full using the player below.

FKA Twigs has certainly kept herself busy since announcing that her debut LP would arrive this summer via the Young Turks label. The latest bit of action from the London R&B artist finds FKA Twigs (well, a few FKA Twigs actually) starring in a gold-plated new video for “Two Weeks,” a slow-brewing cut from her forthcoming LP1 album. Directed by Nabil, the clip renders FKA Twigs into an Egyptian pharaoh of sorts. As the track progresses, the camera gradually moves backwards, slowly revealing FKA Twigs’ throne, her palace, and a number of accompanying dancers—who also happen to be FKA Twigs.

Over ten years, the Hyperdub label has gone from niche concern to cross-genre electronic music mainstay. Ahead of the release of next month’s anniversary compilation, Canadian singer/producer Jessy Lanza‘s contribution “You and Me” has been made available to stream. Lanza debuted on the imprint last year with her Pull My Hair Back album, on which Jeremy Greenspan of Junior Boys served as co-writer and co-producer. This new track is in keeping with the focus of the upcoming compilation, highlighting R&B and vocal cuts from the imprint’s back catalog, and will feature alongside contributions from the likes of Cooly G, DVA, the late DJ Rashad, and label chief Kode9. Hyperdub 10.2 officially lands on July 22, and “You and Me” can be heard over at FACT.

Seven years after debuting on Gerd Janson’s excellent Running Back label, Todd Osborn is scheduled to return by way of its “official unofficial” bonus beats sublabel with T-Rhythm Trax Vol.1, set to see release next month. The Michigan/Detroit producer—who has also released as Osborne on Ghostly and Spectral Sound, and as Soundmurderer and Superstructure—will deliver five “DJ helpers you always dreamed to possess,” and a reissue of collaborative beat tracks from Osborn and Tadd Mullinix as TNT is also reportedly under consideration. T-Rhythm Trax Vol.1 will follow Osborn’s recent Michigan Dream EP for FaltyDL’s Blueberry label, and is officially due out on July 14.

Outspoken figurehead of the new wave of grime artists Slackk has revealed details for his debut album, slated for release at the end of the summer on Local Action. The London-based producer (a.k.a. Paul Lynch) has has issued a handful of releases for labels such as Unknown To The Unknown and Numbers, and operates London’s Boxed club night where Oil Gang, Mr. Mitch, and Logos serve as residents. According to a recent interview with Resident Advisor, Slackk said he doesn’t see the album as a “big grandiose statement in the way that some albums can be, but there is a definite tone to it. Maybe a bit more space to it in comparison to some of the other stuff I’ve put out.”

Chicago ghetto house/juke veteran DJ Slugo is set to debut on Nicolas Jaar’s Other People next week, with his King Of Ghetto House EP. Slugo (a.k.a. Thomas Kendricks) got his start in the mid-’90s, appearing on revered outfits such as Dance Mania. The news marks a new direction for Jaar’s serial Other People imprint, inaugurated last summer in place of his previous label Clown & Sunset, which has thus far served as a platform for Jaar’s own Darkside project with Dave Harrington and downtempo electronic music from artists like Valentin Stip and Drew Gragg. The EP officially lands on June 30, but until then a tracklist has been posted below, and clips are available to preview here.

Though one wouldn’t know it simply by listening to Ishi, the upcoming LP of sprawling ambient expeditions from LA synth navigator M. Geddes Gengras, the album actually takes its inspiration from a very particular source: the story of Ishi, the “the last wild Indian” to emerge from isolation and into the modern world of 1911 America.

Only three-tracks long, Ishi clocks in at 35 minutes, its trio of calming ambient compositions feeling free to take their time. The resulting LP is a slow-moving canvas of fluttering arpeggios, aimless melodies, and dense aquatic pads. The opening “Ishi” stretches its organ-like drones across a wide canvas; “Passage” is far-reaching and marked by lightly tweaked synths that bubble to the top; and finally, “Threshold” digs the deepest into Gergras’ lush textures. In the end, each song represents a seperate journeys into the dense modular wilderness.
