After revealing the details of his upcoming Your Charizmatic Self EP last week, Night Slugs co-head Bok Bok has shared a full stream of “Howard,” a funk-tinged cut from his forthcoming effort. Spanning just over five minutes, “Howard” is a production that revels in a sort of push-pull momentum, with the empty spaces between the track’s sharp chords stabs filled by thick snares, bulbous kicks, and extra melodic flourishes that appear largely patternless in nature.

The latest unique concoction from Bok Bok can be streamed in full below before the man’s Your Charizmatic Self EP lands via Night Slugs on May 26.

Hailing from Seattle, Joey Butler will return to hometown label Hush Hush next week with the Silo Tear EP, a five-track effort that finds the evolving artist incorporating colder textures and more mechanical rhythms into his dense soundscapes.

When XLR8Rprofiled Butler as part of our Bubblin’ Up week early last year, the Northwest native had just dropped his debut full-length, Skylight, a record which concerned itself with the more spacious and moody ends of the electronic spectrum. On Silo Tear, remnants of that sound are still present, though they often come tucked behind forceful machine-made percussion and tough rhythms ran through unwieldy distortion paths. Out on Monday, May 5, Kid Smpl’s ambitious new effort is available to stream in full below.

A track which originally appeared on the excellent Immunity LP—a record which we deemed 2013’s best release—Jon Hopkins‘ “We Disappear” has received a new treatment complete with additional vocals from Lulu James. The new version of Hopkins’ production is slated to be included on the the upcoming “We Disappear” 12″ which will come backed by a remix from Moderat (a.k.a. Modeselektor and Apparat) when it drops on June 30 via Domino.

In addition to sharing a stream of the new effort (which is available to purchase on its own now, digitally), Hopkins has also revealed plans for an extensive North American tour beginning in July. Those dates, and a stream of “We Disappear (feat. Lulu James)” can be found below.

Fast-rising UK producer and a resident DJ of Fabric in London, Daniel Avery has unveiled plans for a brief North American tour beginning later this month. With a string of dates that focuses mostly on the East Coast of the US, Avery will also touch down in Canada for two separate performances in Toronto and Montreal, and move west only for sets in Denver and Detroit, which will include an appearance at the upcoming Movement Festival. Hate is back after a lengthy absence. For the unfamiliar, Hate was a late-’00s white label project that featured original and unreleased junglist hardcore pulled off a collection of dubplates and DAT tapes from the early ’90s. More recently, the project has been revealed as being helmed by Demdike Stare‘s Miles Whittaker, Andy Stott, and Modern Love affiliate G.H.

In the past several years, there has not been much word from the project, but now the trio has announced Bad History, a cassette tape which compiles the label’s entire discography and features a 40-minute recording of the trio playing live as a soundsystem in Sweden. The tape is available now on Boomkat, where a few tracks from the compilation are also available to preview. (via FACT)

A veteran jock whose reputation for marathon sets and keen selections has fueled much of his decades-long career, Harvey William Bassett (a.k.a. DJ Harvey) will release a new LP under the name Wildest Dreams this summer via the Smalltown Supersound label. A record which will find DJ Harvey exercising the more instrument-based side of his production talents, the upcoming Wildest Dreams LP is said to consist of “music inspired by the landscape of L.A and its surroundings for your road and acid trip.”

As a first taste, Bassett has let loose an entirely NSFW video for guitar-led album cut “Last Ride,” which can be watched in full below. The Wildest Dreams LP will see a release on July 29; its complete tracklist is also included below.

There’s less than a week to go until the release of Bleep:10, online music retailer Bleep‘s 10th anniversary compilation. Over the past month, Bleep has slowly teased the album with a string of track streams from the likes of Machinedrum, Modeselektor, and Untold. Now, the latest teaser comes from Border Community regular Nathan Fake (who, it ought to be mentioned, has also announced the launch of a new label called Cambria Instruments).

The track, called “Vanish North,” serves as the collection’s closing cut, coming in the form of a slowly boiling mass of emotional synthesis that explodes into a consuming wash of melodic feedback. Fake’s impressionistic and cathartic production can be heard below before the full release of Bleep:10, which officially drops on Monday, May 5.

Set to appear on Will Saul‘s upcomingDJ-Kicks mix album, a new production from consistently impressive UK producer Leon Vynehall is now available to stream in full. Entitled “Time,” the new track is a rich and deep excursion into somber house, one that pits slow-moving strings and chopped woodwind gasps atop an infectiously low-swung shuffle.

Will Saul’s contribution to Will Saul‘s !K7‘s esteemed mix series is set to land on June 16. In the meantime, Vynehall’s exclusive contribution to the effort can be streamed below.
