Since its founding in 1991, the All Saints label has been at the fore of experimental music. Now, it’s releasing Greater Lengths, a two-disc compilation, with one disc featuring previously unreleased originals from the likes of Brian Eno and Roedelius, and another disc with modern reworks courtesy of more dancefloor-focused artists. As a teaser, the label is streaming two reworks: Hieroglyphic Being‘s loose and live interpretation of Roedelius’ “Remember” and patten‘s smeared techno rework of Jon Hassel’s “Metal Fatigue.”

All Saints’ forthcoming compilation—which includes additional remixes from Bee Mask, Gavin Russom, and Bandshell, among others—is out on June 3. Before then, Hieroglyphic Being’s and patten’s adventurous contributions to the collection can be streamed in full below.

Coming just behind his new record for Nonplus+, industrious producer and Rekids co-founder Radio Slave (a.k.a. Matt Edwards) has announced a forthcoming EP for the Work Them label. The press release for the upcoming Werk EP explains that the record’s two full productions will “take simple vocal samples and cast-iron grooves, and stretch them drum-skin tight.” Furthermore, Werk will also include acapella versions of each track, which the EP’s announcement claims makes “for irresistible DJ play.”

Radio Slave’s Werk EP is set to see a release on June 2, but before then, the full tracklist and artwork for the upcoming effort can be peeped below.

Fresh off a North American and European tour, Kompakt mainstay Gui Boratto paid a visit to WNYU last night to perform a super suave live set for Beats in Space. During the course of the hour-long performance, Boratto begins in a more minimalist vein before opening up to lighter and more playful grooves that are intermittently cut by colder spurts of mechanical techno beats.

The set concludes with a brief interview between Boratto and BIS host Tim Sweeney, which finds the Brazilian producer/DJ discussing forthcoming music, his new D.O.C. label, and a bit about his production process. It’s been almost exactly three years since Routes, the exceptional collaborative LP from London production outfit LV and UK poet/vocalist Joshua Idehen, landed. Now, the three artists have announced plans to release a new batch collaborative work, first dropping a new single next month with plans to issue a second album together later this year.

Set to see a release via Keysound on May 16, the “Imminent” single finds LV crafting a slinking, percussion-heavy slice of UKG, on top of which Idehen launches into a cautioning tale inspired by the “the real-life whisperings” he overheard in Hackney following the shooting of a young man. The trio’s new single can be streamed in full below, and more details of the outfit’s—ahem—imminent second collaborative LP are expected to arrive in the coming weeks.

A name some may recognize from his contribution to John Talabot’s DJ-Kicks mix from last year, British producer Pye Corner Audio will release a split LP alongside London’s Not Waving in June. Set to appear on the Ecstatic label, the upcoming Intercepts album will feature four productions from each artist. Said to take much of its inspiration from “the world of espionage,” the eight-track LP will offer a variety of electronic forms across its run including “dreamlike industrial techno, impressionist synth burbles, fragmented post-modern ambient, and cosmic sci-fi adventure.”

Before the pair’s split LP sees an official release on June 14, a contribution from each producer—Pye Corner Audio’s “Perfect Secrecy Forever” and Not Waving’s “Protect the Revolution”—can be streamed below, where Intercepts‘ full tracklist has also been included.

Nils Frahm, the celebrated Berlin-based experimental composer and pianist, has announced his imminent return to North America this fall for a string of cross-continent tour dates. This news comes following the release of a new website for the artist, as well as what has been a good year for Frahm, who XLR8R profiled as a Bubblin’ Up artist back in November of last year.
