After announcing news of an upcoming EP for Ninja Tune and sharing a stream of a new track yesterday, Machinedrum is back again with a new collaborative production alongside LuckyMe affiliate Ango. With Machinedrum taking care of the beat, Ango lends his vocal talents to the cheekily titled “K.I.L.L.Y.O.U.R.B.O.Y.F.R.I.E.N.D.” tune, which—as FACT reports—sees the pair attempting to meld “high-concept pop and low-fi electronic music.”

Though no further details of a Machinedrum and Ango collaborative release have been revealed, “K.I.L.L.Y.O.U.R.B.O.Y.F.R.I.E.N.D.” is currently available through digital retailers. To celebrate the release, the pair has shared a video for the tune, which can be watched in full below.

French label Sound Pellegrino is well-known for its fun-loving ways, but the imprint’s new video for “Things That I Do,” a song by label co-founder Teki Latex and Finnish producer Eero Johannes, just might be its goofiest offering yet. The song originally appeared on the second installment of the label’s Crossover compilation series, and finds Teki crooning about all of his annoying tendencies as a boyfriend over Johannes’ skittering snares and electro-funk flourishes. (For the record, it’s not clear how much of the song is autobiographical and how much is Teki simply playing a character.) Interestingly enough, the video was somewhat inspired by Teki’s girlfriend, who commissioned illustrator Pierre Thyss to do a drawing of Teki for his birthday. When the time came to make a video for this song, the Sound Pellegrino camp figured that Thyss was the perfect candidate to put together a series of images for the clip. Given the subject matter, Sound Pellegrino decided that Valentine’s Day would be the perfect time to debut the video, and sent it along with this message: “This one goes out to all lovers, the couples, and the single lovers. The ones that make compromises and the one who can’t. Happy Valentine’s Day!”

Following in his annual tradition of releasing amourous mixes on Valentine’s Day, Glasgow-based producer Hudson Mohawke has dropped Slow Jams VII today, the latest installment in the man’s love-fueled mix series. The 46-minute mix offers no tracklist, but is filled with unmistakable classics like Eddie Holman’s soulful groove “Hey There Lonely Girl” and Meli’sa Morgan’s feel-good staple, “Fool’s Paradise.” Packed with elegant jams, the tastefully curated set is a welcome edition to the Slow Jams family. Prolific New York-based producer Travis Stewart (a.k.a. Machinedrum) has announced that he will release a new EP via Ninja Tune next month, sharing with the news lead single “Back Seat Ho.” The forthcoming Fenris District EP will feature three previously unreleased Machinedrum productions, as well as remixes from Warp affiliate Rustie and dubstep specialists Pinch & Adrian Sherwood, when it drops on March 24. In the meantime, EP cut “Back Seat Ho” can be streamed in full below.

After 2013 saw Houndstooth putting together an exceptional debut year (one so good, in fact, it landed the imprint as our top label of 2013), the outpost will look to UK producer Ross Tones (a.k.a. Throwing Snow) to deliver 2014’s first release of original material from the label with Pathfinder. The four-track effort is said to put an emphasis on the “overall sound palette and feelings portrayed” by its productions, rather than where they land on the genre spectrum, and is meant to be listened to while on a “journey.”

News of the Pathfinder EP also comes with word that the London-based producer has signed “an exclusive album deal” with Houndstooth, likely indicating that a Throwing Snow full-length may be in the works. For now, before Pathfinder drops on March 25, its tracklist and a stream of EP opener “The Tempest” (which features Romanian vocalist Adda Kaleh) are included below.

Tonight, the crew behind New York’s Lit City Trax will be bringing its party stylings to London, with UK grime practitioner Visionist serving as the headliner. The former Bubblin’ Up subject and recent XLR8R podcast contributor spoke to Dazed about tonight’s festivities, and in the process announced an upcoming EP and debuted a stream of a brand-new track. The song, which can be heard below, is called “More Pain” and will reportedly be included on I’m Fine II, a new EP for Lit City Trax and the follow-up to his first outing for the label, last year’s I’m Fine. More details will emerge in the weeks to come, but I’m Fine II is slated for release in April.
