Earlier this month, longtime French techno standout Laurent Garnier followed his announcement of a new record for Chicago’s Still Music label with news of a forthcoming EP for Modeselektor’s 50Weapons imprint. Apparently, those aren’t the only releases Garnier had up his sleeve, as the veteran DJ/producer has shared the details of another new EP, which will arrive via Fugelance’s Musique Large label next month. In fact, Garnier is said to have five total releases slated for the coming months for a project billed as ” five releases, five labels, five styles, all Garnier.” A13, the upcoming EP for Musique Large, will be the second record released in that series, and is said to take a departure from the sound Garnier is best known for—instead offering four tracks of “electronic hip-hop… or simply beat music.”

Laurent Garnier’s A13 EP will drop on March 24 with remixes from Fugelance and a number of other Musique Large affiliates. In the meantime, the record’s artwork and tracklist are included below.

The consistently forward-thinking team of DJs and producers over at the Night Slugs camp took over a recent edition of Boiler Room, unleashing a handful of sets from label newcomers and a back-to-back session by label heads Bok Bok and L-Vis 1990. In addition to the co-owners’ hour-long performance, UK artists Deamonds, Neana, and Girl Unit (who appeared under his Hysterics moniker) each delivered a powerful set of next-level house and techno that night, all of which can be watched and heard here. Last year, longtime DFA affiliate The Juan Maclean began what he described as a “dancefloor trilogy,” issuing both “You Are My Destiny” and “Feel Like Movin,” the latter of which appeared on a split 12″ with labelmate Shit Robot. Next week, he’ll complete the three-song journey with another new single, “Get Down (With My Love).” An edit of the track debuted at NPR (and can be streamed/downloaded below), but the full version of the tune, which features regular collaborator Nancy Whang on vocals, will be released on February 18 in both digital and vinyl formats. The artwork for “Get Down (With My Love)” is also below, and though this latest outing offers only a single new song, it’s worth noting that a new Juan Maclean album is apparently being prepped for a summer 2014 release.

Last month, the second installment of Floating Points‘ You’re a Melody night took over London’s Plastic People club, and for the second time, the UK producer/DJ/label head has shared a recording of the “soul from around the world” that was played that night. Back in November of last year, the first You’re a Melody session yielded a four-hour mix from Floating Points and his friends, but this time around, we’re treated to five hours of soul-drenched audio courtesy of the night’s curator and NYC selector DJ Love on the Run.

Five hours of You’re a Melody’s resulting performances (it would have been six, had the recording device not broken just before the final hour) can be streamed in full via the player below, and downloaded for free here.

The day after she announced a remix EP featuring productions from the likes of Kowton, Dark Sky, and Bonobo, breakout house artist Maya Jane Coles has sent over details of the forthcoming deluxe version of her debut LP Comfort, as well as a preview of some of the never-before-heard music it will offer. Coles’ new version of her first album will be available on vinyl and digital formats as of March 24, and will arrive complete with five new tracks, three of which are previously unreleased. “Stand Still” is one such production, and is available to preview in the player embedded below, before the UK DJ/producer’s own I/AM/ME label drops the deluxe edition of Comfort next month.

In a bit of surprising news today, Warp has announced a new release arriving soon from label mainstay Squarepusher (a.k.a. Tom Jenkinson), an EP of collaborative pieces composed by the veteran artist and performed by a group of Japanese robots called Z-Machines. The five-song Music for Robots EP is a project which started back in summer of 2013, when Jenkinson was approached by a team of Japanese roboticists and producer Kenjiro Matsuo to write music for their three creations, which resulted in the piece “Sad Robots Go Funny.” After completing the song, all of the parties involved felt that there were more ideas and territory to be explored, so more music was written and recorded. The process, as a press release states, included “an intense four weeks of composing, then two more months of transferring and adapting data, various technical hurdles, and the eventual recording of Music For Robots.”

Squarepusher says of his latest project, “In this project, the main question I’ve tried to answer is ‘Can these robots play music that is emotionally engaging?'” We can find out if he succeeded or not when Music for Robots is released on April 8.
